Graphomania is a disorder caused by chemicals in the brain which makes someone write excessively(writing madness)
Like they can write inside fire,the thing they write doesn't make sense, they live their lives inside Book and Biro.
Someone I know has been suffering from Graphomania for over 2 decades
Due to sentimental reasoning,everyone termed it the devil and village people, the psychologist that treated the person at some point had little progress,I guess he didn't dive deep or something so the person never got the help needed till it grew severe.
In fact I know a big part of Nigeria don't really know about this illness as it might seem strange to us so it seems like our medical personnels have not so much idea about it.
Please I'm soliciting for help
I can't pray for graphomania for my enemy,it is as good as living dead!
Doctors in the House,help out,how can I be of help to this person??
I know it can be treated or reduced,through therapies and drugs, not like it has an exact cure.
I had to do the findings of the illness myself, that's how I know it's a known disorder discovered in the 70's

This person has written books that can fill 50 bags of 100kg Rice sacks in her lifetime,I am not exaggerating
Excessive reading and writing
I'm not a medical student but my analysis is that it was caused by PTSD which aggravated into severe depression and she found solace in Writing
An Ex secretary,highly intelligent,one of the top best Typist of her time till series of events occurred..
She is suffering from severe case of Graphomania, I don't know if it's too late for her,over 2 decades now.
Her life is slipping away right in front of her.

At first the writings were making sense till later they made no single sense
Incomplete sentences
Contradictive words
Unconnected phrases
Like nonsense
I really want to help but I can't do it alone..
People and her family have tried helping,they've done the best they could do but to me it wasn't the best approach..

24/7 writing,detached from social activities, aggressive and violent trait's, misbehaviors, my head is paining me,let me stop here..
So I know this process will cost time and money,but it will be worth it.
I've decided to start with talking sessions..
Create like an hour in a day,multiple times a week,till she is more communicative to want to go to the Pathologist with me.
Prior to that time,I'd be going to Lasuth next week to talk with a Pathologist.

About 25 years of suffering from Graphomania
About me:
I'm just someone that tries to make things better,a big follower of logic.
She lives in almost complete isolation
I believe it's a thing of the mind,which has caused a mental depreciation and triggered some chemicals making some activities excessive.
My first therapy is bonding with the patient (it's not that easy)I'm having to embrace what she does and her view's and things she likes..
I have my own entirely different life but I won't watch while someone lives a life void of living and I know I could help somehow.

Tomorrow I will snap a sack of Books she has written,I will also open some pages and try to show it out here as clear as I can.
I'm presently in one of the bonding sessions right now..
I'm using Google as a guide,I still intend studying more to see how best I can help

All these are very long stories. The person is as good as MAD. This reminded me of a particular man, he can write with anything on any surface. But his writings can't be comprehended.

But they can be tamed if they're treated on time..
Through therapeutic sessions and drug's
"As good as mad",Cerebral illnesses are known to be able to improve on to a stage,to be able to be tamed,even Albert Einstein suffered from neurological lapses,the difference between us is that,they sought solutions and it didn't deter him from "living"
Nigerians acknowledge a problem and certify the problem as critical without working out solution's..
That's why we have many mad people roaming on the Street's,when they can be calmed..
That man in your story is a Graphomaniac and I'm sure nobody thought it wise to clinically pick up his case,probably laced with heavy sentimental note's

Thanks for this,it actually gave me the vibe to have another session this evening

So today I ended up spending 2 hour's, listening and giving responses (mostly unfavourable)from time to time.
Her flashbacks are very detailed
I tried putting in the fact she has a problem and it is medically inclined,the spoiler is that,they made her over religious as the problem solver to her life,so it is fanatical reasoning coupled with this illness,actually just listening gives me migraine.
Now 2 things I'm presently doing is talking sessions, a little bit of criticisms and caring.
So this is someone that stopped caring about how she looks.
So I'm presently finding solutions to not only assess her mental solution but also her physical solution..
In fact after the Pathologist session's, a part of her past will still have to be brought back,something she loved and adored,something she highly respected. Cause no sentence was spoken without it in it..
The cause of the trigger is all I'm ascertaining while making her know that she has to accept the fact she has a problem..

That's a 50kg sack full with recent writing's..
She knits if she is not writing or reads the Bible or Dictionary or talk into her Phone..
I will continue talking to her daily,so she get used to talking to living things,she calls her writing's "Manuscripts",she keeps correcting me they're not Books yet cause they're not published..
She calls her Books " The White Man"
She was formally working with a White Boss,who was always thinking of how to solve problems and make the Company better,so his mode of ethics was pretty diligent bla bla...
So it's as if he is still dictating stuffs to her in her head and she has to keep writing them down,she writes down solutions to her knitting also (as she said).She said she has stopped reading,ahh abeg stop,never ever read again Madam..

I had to take a break today to sleep so I can stop my migraines, so today I'm reading up on it and doing researches,the addiction is just too intense,the pulse to write is forever there and the entire book has to be filled up..
YouTube has almost nothing to help my search..
So I'm left with Googling heavily.

Since I can't get enough information on Graphomania, I'm taking cue from Schizophrenia, to me I feel Schizophrenia is the compound word for psychotic analysis.
Turns out my talking sessions is on point(yippee )

So the medications would be Antipsychotic's which I'd be talking out with a Pathologist probably next Monday,if I have to be a Sneaky Snook to get her to use them,I'd gladly be..
Then the socialising aspect is still one I'm thinking of how to go about..

I feel the combination of these will do a big change.

I don't know who she would be after all these,I just know if this is successful, she will be a human "living".
So they say soo many unwritten stories are in the Grave,to me,soo many unseen pages are still here living with us and when they die,not only will they be unwritten stories but a never existing Author.
The greatest harm is the one to the mind,a sound mind is the greatest asset you can ever have,once the mind is damaged,the Soul is damaged, it's like an abysmal void into nothingness, you just keep sinking and sinking till your last breath.
We have to be aware of our mental health,before faint issues becomes an OCD.

I forgot to say that when I took some of her book's for the picture purpose, I forgot to hide them,she saw them and said I'm capable of killing people and I've just killed her,I can kill her...
So one thing you should know about Graphomaniacs is that even if they've written a whole Story building of Books, 1 single sheet of their writing is so so dear to them,guess what!
They don't go back to read what they wrote ooo
Nope nope,they feel they don't have to.

If you want to kill them,just take part of their books and hide or tear or damage,you've just stabbed them,get ready to be despised for week's.
Their minds are distorted.

Her writing is excessive, yes, most obviously because she had secretarial skills before the trauma. 'Take away' the trauma, she might as well show signs of improvement.

It's not that easy you know,it not something that can be done just like that,she will be needing medical help

Okay so I feel like crying.
Left Home after 7 to LASUTH,with the hot Sun and all,jumping series of Buses and finally getting to the Hospital, well I headed straight to the Pathology Section, they said I'd have to bring the patient along but I should to to the OPD to get a record and officially lay the complaints, off I went only to hear that Doctors are on strike,I just weak abeg,just thinking about the long journey I naively went to take and the hot Sun is making me seat still on their Bench to cool down for minutes first.

Inside me I just want to cry,don't tell me my journey was futile
But no wahala,I just know I can't come back here tomorrow, this waka,I will have to make my tomorrow free,when it is 10:30am I'd get up and head Home

Psycho-analyst/Psychiatrist not a
Pathologist at LASUTH.

A Pathologist deals with pathogens or the study of disease-causing microbes.

The Yaba in Lagos, and Aro Psychiatric Hospitals are the ideal places to take her to... and
I read that they have top-notch mental health professionals who have been able to treat or cure people with neurosis/psychosis and drug addicts.

The reason why I initially chose Lasuth is cause I feel like they give discounted Fee's for their service's, hopefully those other ones won't make me drop this case cause of their Fee's

So presently no need for much perambulating again
It can be suppressed through therapies,drugs,scans and treatments.
So now I'm going to continue with my talking sessions and bonding sessions.
I've called the attention of those involved in this.
So we can think about the way forward concerning the expenses..
I'm not expecting an abrupt change but I change there's been a tinny bitty difference somehow,so if the medical aspect is put in place then we should be pretty positive.
