Nigerians are very warm and accommodating people. Infact there is a survey of Nigerians being the most HAPPIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. Despite the poverty level and down-trodden economy, we still have a high tolerance level, and a high sense of humor.

Lately things are beginning to get out of hands. The once cheerful and happy Nigerian is now not just sad but FURIOUS

Is there any sector that we can boast of in this country that’s thriving. Is it Agriculture? (Farmers-herdsmen clashes).
Education? (ASUU strike) yet the govt have billions to settle bandits
Healthcare? ( I don even want to talk about that, before my oga at the top says something else)
Infrastructure? ( oh please!! With the inflation of contract figures. I hear they also want to renovate the NASS with 40-something Billion naira. Renovation they do every two years. Talk of the inflated amount the govt says it paid in doing roads. The actual amount can do 5 other roads. Infrastructure in my opinion is moving at a slow pace because of our chop and I chop officials

Employment? No way, no jobs, underemployment, and massive job losses since we entered a certain Change regime

WELFARE? We all remember how they hoarded our palliatives, yet plan to give untested vaccines to the masses. Unfortunately, At the end of the day, its the ground workers that will taste the wrath of the Angry people, not those at the top.

Security? (Or rather should I say Insecurity in all parts of the country, not just the north anymore) It seems this country is on AUTO-Pilot

To butress my point the Whole of these problems seems to come down to our Inefficient POLITHIEFCIANS. Whose sole agenda is to steal as much as you can and leave, no one wants to work anymore. Oh !!! How I miss Gov Ambode, one of the few modern technocrats who understood that much could be done with the little on ground. And some other decent ones whom may not be so popular but their good works remain decades after they have passed.

As a nation, God has blessed us with every resource to be the richest in the world, including a good Human capital ( some call it POPULATION depending on the govt’s insight) -look at China

We have it all, yet lack leadership- its not a new song. But now it’s getting to the bone marrow of every adult in Nigeria. The hunger and anger is too much in the land, yet the leaders keep making unpopular policies to worsen our situation.

The most HATED Nigerians used to be the ;
NEPA officials
LASTMA Officials
POLICE Officers
Agberos
Armed robbers/ terrorists

Now these people tend to be saints when you place them side by side with a Nigerian POLITICIAN

I’ll drop my pen here

That first paragraph, I've heard a lot time; mostly from Nigerians. It would seem they are thier own advocates. Is this really true? Are Nigerians really tolerant and welcoming people or they just believe they are cause most of them don't even know what it's like in a truly tolerant and welcoming society? Neither what I see on my TV nor what I read on Nairaland suggests Nigerians are tolerant/friendly. Nigerians seems to be kind only when there's an immediate gain. Otherwise, people are always in this "I'm better than you" or "fighting" mode. People are always looking for the next person to criticise or judge just to feel good about themselves.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to derail your thread, I was just 'thinking out loud'. I know there are all types of people everywhere, but if we must generalize, would the first paragraph really be valid?

Yes I do think Nigerians are accommodating. As times change, so do people change with the times. The polity isn’t accommodating to we Nigerians anymore so..
