German Chancellor Angela Merkel told
Russian President Vladimir Putin on
Thursday to pull back a military build-
up near the country’s border with
Ukraine amid heightened tensions in
the conflict-stricken Donbas region.
Ukrainian government troops have
battled Russian-backed separatists in
the country’s eastern Donetsk and
Lugansk regions, which form part of
Donbas, since the rebels seized a swath
of territory there in April 2014.
Fears of an escalation in hostilities
have mounted in recent weeks, with
Ukraine raising the alarm about an
increase in Russian forces along the
countries’ shared border and renewed
front-line clashes.
“The Chancellor demanded that this
build-up be unwound in order to de-
escalate the situation,” Germany’s
government said in a readout of a
telephone call between Merkel and
Putin.
The Kremlin, for its part, said in its
readout of the phone call that
“Vladimir Putin noted provocative
actions by Kyiv which is deliberately
inflaming the situation along the line
of contact”.
Also on Thursday, White House Press
Secretary Jen Psaki said the United
States was discussing Russian troop
movements with its NATO allies.
“Russia now has more troops on the
border with Ukraine than at any time
since 2014,” Psaki told reporters,
referring to the period when Russia
annexed the Crimea region of Ukraine.
“Five Ukrainian soldiers have been
killed this week alone. These are all
deeply concerning signs,” she added.

That statement by Biden is one of the most dumbest outbursts by a sitting Head of State against a fellow Head of State of almost equal military powers in recent memory. Unless it was intentionally deployed to trigger a certain reaction from Putin for other diversionary American foreign policy goals. Otherwise, that statement was grossly boneheaded.

The West might need to recalibrate how they approach Russia, China, India and Iran. Part of the reasons they quarrel with China on almost every front is because they prefer to openly talk down on Chinese leaders. The Chinese communists built up that country based on strong nationalism and a promise to bring back the years when China was a global empire. They can't command the respect of their people when they come across as school children receiving moral lessons from some arrogant American headmasters at every encounter.

It's same with Russia! Pushing NATO boundaries right into Russian doorsteps in Ukraine is nothing but provocation taken too far! As far as I'm concerned, it's just a notch below the Cuban missile crises in comparison. It's a highly unnecessary attempt at diplomatic humiliation/provocation! An avoidable distraction that was unleashed to irritate a highly formidable 'opponent'.. And it doesn't make any sense to wilfully form the habit of provoking fellow Super Powers.., does it? Look at Crimea, look at Hong Kong, look at Gorgia, Syria.. The West had no formidable answers to those..

Nothing different..
He may even decide to cosy up to Putin.
Putin is a master of his own turf and Ukraine is diplomatically Putin's turf..,

The West Want to turn Ukraine into Libya so as to destabilise the region (especially Russia) as they did with Africa.

You maybe right.
Because I can't see an end game here that includes a frontal confrontation with Russia.
Putin has repeatedly proven his willingness to defend Russias interests especially when challenged closer to home as was the case in Chechnya and Gorgia.. Could be that they just want to goad Ukraine into a big conflict with Russia and then use the resultant choas to undermine Putin in power. Tricky if you ask me considering the fact that you are dealing with a former KGB agent notorious for his ruthlessness..

The west calls Russia & China the aggressors. But in the real sense. The west is the aggressor. It keeps choking up Russia all in the name of NATO. They are gradually bringing thier troop to Russian door step & when Russia react. They call it Russian aggression. What Russia is doing in Ukraine is to create a buffer zone between itself and the West (potential enemy). Almost all the countries that share border with Russian are members of NATO or aspiring to joint NATO. They are doing the same thing to China & that's why China is protecting North Korea. Because if North Korea is occupied. Then the west will be able to deploy thier advance weapon (defence systems, missiles, fighter jets e.t.c) to the Chinese door step. China is surrended already. USA troops are in South Korea & Japan

Then talking about North Korea (NK). NK is not the aggressor. NK is just trying to survive. They don't want thier territory to be occupied by the west. They don't want to get the Libyan treatment. Thier Nuclear arsenal is to deter the West from attacking them and not to engage the West in a war. NK is not looking for war as the Western media always claim.

I wonder how they successful fool the world by painting the likes of China, Russia and North Korea black. Well it is obvious the western propaganda has no contender. Imagine how they condemn the Spunik V vaccine when it was first rolled out and at the end of the day. They did the same thing the Russian did. They rolled out thier own vaccine in a rush so that they can compete. Now the EMA is considering approving Spunik V vaccine for European countries. Some EU countries like Hunagry, Austria e.t.c have ordered for the Russian vaccine without the EMA approval.

Imagine that it is the Spunik V that is having the same issue Astra-Zenica vaccine is having now. The vaccine would have been banned. Now they are encourage countries to continue administrating the vaccine despite the side effect. I am sure they are doing this for economic reason. They don't want the billion dollars invested in the vaccine to be in vain.
