I have a master's degree, I write books, I think I could teach your group not the other way round. Also, it is not "Nigerian history" it is just history, Nigeria didn't exist untill 1914.

History is not a story, it is an investigative work backed by eyewitness written documents.

My brother nobody said Ogiame is a Yoruba name, what he was trying to say is that the edict is morally and logically wrong.. Imagine the son of a King cannot be an heir to the throne because his mother the queen is a Yoruba woman.
Its just like saying after the death of my father his wealth will be inherited by my uncles, aunties and cousins because my mother is from another tribe.
Wise up
Iwere (Warri) and the oracle has spoken.
No going back

The king studied law. Why didn't he challenge this edict for 37 years before his death to secure the stool for his son?

.

I am not leaning on any side, if you go down to Eko( Lagos) you will see places with Benin ancestry in names.

The only thing we can use ordinarily in tracing our origin in Africa is language and the cultures we practice.

The heritage of the ruling family need not be same with their subjects Illorin in Kwara state is a good example

Which may be true but then the royal households may claim otherwise and they have their followers too.
The basics here is what is the established form of kingship and are they willing to change the old order

* There are places in Nigeria where affinity is to the mother side, Ogoni is one*
Let's wait till they (the royal household) do that then. The Yoruba respect decision and not landgrabbers.

Actually, languages are dynamic and colonisation has made people from various areas speak languages which they didn't speak in precolonial days. You can't generalise the case of illorin.

The only sure thing is the notion of precolonial country: "which precolonial country did your land belong to ?"

Also classification of languages within language groups is very subjectif and not scientific.

Itsekiris and Yorubas are inseparable... We both have ifa, ogun and umalokun. Benins have some too but got it from us.

Besides, Itsekiris don't understand BINI Language...

Come in Itsekiri is WA... What is it in yours?
Cloth in Itsekiri is ASHO... what is it in yours?
Family is EBI while people is ARA... What is it in Bini?
Food is Oje, Soup is Obe, Fish is Eja, Water is Omi, Oil is Ekpo, Medicine/20/War/Talisman is Ogun, Dance is Jo.... I can go on forever.

Thank ORITSE for English and pidgin that Oyibos brought, Itsekiris would have been like Fish out of water in Benin city.... while they would blend in perfectly anywhere in Coastal Yorubaland.... Nigeria is the only place where some people will think they have the right to 'claim' others who don't even understand their language as if those ppl are a conquered or servile race, and yet everyone is busy complaining about Fulanis while doing the very same things and worse in their backyards..... No wonder the whole country is upside down.

My language instructor, let the elder go and visit the " Oni of Ife" ... rubbish

The Ascension to Olu throne is governed by laws. Those laws must be followed. Illegality is illegality and would be destroyed either by the courts either by the state government.

Everybody supporting this coup in worri will retire in shame.

The reason Nigeria will always be corrupt is because, some people think they can pick and choose which laws to follow and which ones to ignore. People support illegality if such illegality is seen as promoting their ethnic interests.

You think the ruling house in Onitsha have no Benin roots or Igala roots?

Where a people have a record of history of their origin, science is needless.
It is a pity that we have to go scientific to prove who we are all because of politics
