Is School truely overrated?

I think School is overrated and it has killed the potentials of alot of young people in the world today.
SAME TOOLS, SAME TOPICS, SAME SUBJECTS for everyone from generation to generation, nothing changed.

The world changes, revolutions, technology, Cryptocurrency, Forex trading, etc, but the school system remains the same. Too bad!

Like I always say,

Basic education which is the ability to read and write is really important in the life of every human being. If you couldn’t know how to read and write in Primary and Secondary School, don’t bother going to the University to waste time and resources.

Enroll for a skill (digital skills preferably) because the world is going digital currently.

Farming, fishing, how to barb, how to sew and alot more of HOW TO DO. They’re all good and lucrative, depends on how good, serious and passionate you are about it.

SCHOOL of THOUGHTS is different from SCHOOL of LIFE. Take note!

There are many avenues of learning, and many types of careers. We need to stop acting like University is the only avenue of value, or the only way to succeed in life. 90% of world successful people and billionaires, are School Dropout. I don’t wanna talk about that anyway.

A female friend of mine shared a story with me sometime ago, she said,

“I was a teenage mother and I only have a high school degree. I make a very good living in a white collar career. My son-in-law went into a skilled trade and by the time he was 27 he was making more than I did”.

See ehn, there are some careers which require university degrees. There are.many other ones that can be just as lucrative and satisfying and doesn’t require University degree. It’s ridiculous how the society do not to see both as valid, worthy paths to success.

Certificate and degree is just a symbol of our skill and competency in certain field. Many peoples without degree have competency in their own field, and more successful in life. PERIOD!

Funny how people laugh at 2Face Idibia because he can’t properly express himself in English and didn’t finish School, but has all his songs in their phone. Nobi juju be dat

Please don’t get me wrong, I totally respect and appreciate the efforts of all the School Teachers around the world, y’all are amazing..God bless you. Madam Adiele, my primary school teacher, God bless you.

I also appreciate every Student around the world,(especially those at the Science department) I pray y’all pass out with good grades and also make it in life after graduation. AMEN!

"School is overrated & a potential killer" Abi
That is the orientation of some Nigerians & we wait for the Western world to produce a vacine for us for COVID-19.
If school is overrated why do we depends on the developed country for our daily living, we suppose to be master of ourselves by now in Science, advance technology, medicine to name a few.
You can only say that in Nigeria context becox when you get a degree in Nigeria universities is just like ordinary paper with less value, & many can't defend it.
