It is ok if the bank wants to charge for any service. But you have to state it in the transaction.
I'm sending money from my US account to my GTB dom account, I have paid all fees requested by my US bank yet GTB still removed 20 to 25 dollars. No reason given and it does not reflect on the transaction what the amount was removed for.
To make matters worse, when I send it to another bank in Nigeria, I get all my money.
So explain that.
GTB is still.my bank but they are messing up on this issue.

That incomplete funds was not even GTBank's fault; it was yours. You obviously did not tick the box stating that you wanted the complete funds remitted and offshore charge should be taken from you. Unfortunately, offshore charge is optional, not compulsory, therefore not much emphasis is placed on it. And mind you, if your money is coming from a country that can't send funds to Nigeria, where an intermediary bank has to be used, then that bank will also take its own offshore charge.

Please, my fellow bloggers and digital marketers, I have a serious question to ask because I am very angry right now.

One of my partners sent a little dollar to my account through wire transfer on the 23rd of this month, on getting to my account I saw that $25 dollar was deducted from the money.

I contacted the sender and he told me that they send the exact amount which they also sent me the receipt, now I had to contact my bank (GTB) and they said that it's offshore charges and that it's a new law from CBN.

Please I am still confused right now, why will CBN issue such a law?

Please share your experience if you have ever experienced something like that before because it also means that Google Adsense payment might be deducted too

Ask the sender to send you Telex for the transfer. He/She ask the sending bank to charge the recipient "Offshore Charge" which is the USD 25 and it's not your Nigeria bank that debited the $25.

It's the corresponding bank used that will make the deduction. Your bank will credit in full the amount received.

If Google send you money, you get paid what Google send because they incur all the charges.

To be certain and sure, ask the Sender to send you Telex and upload it here.

So it's the sender that short-changed you. Ask for Telex and we will analyze it for you here and know who to fight to get back your USD 25.
