How can you be in a devastated mood and still have the energy to compose such epistle?

She's a writer, it comes naturally. It's her means of expression. She can turn to it for solace the same way others would plug in earphones and go through a mile-long playlist.

Was just wondering myself. That's what happens when a person makes every effort to live her life for the public to notice. Why not grief quietly. My condolences all the same.
I think as humans we handle pain differently. I don't think she was trying to get noticed by anyone. After all it won't bring back her mother. You can say what she did is therapeutic, venting her pain into writing.

My favorite writer of all times. Always found a way to attribute her mother's behaviors to any of her characters in all her works... Her works are loving, you'll be drenched in the fragrance of poetry, you will love it, her words make you cozy, make you fall in love again, make you discover your inner sense of the appreciation of simple things like the fluttering butterfly, the earthy smell of the first rain, the soft feel of a wooly pillow, the strong metallic after-taste of Corn Beef, and the chirping of the ochiri bird from far away in the bush... You be compelled to read a line over and over again just because of how exotic it is...
Purple Hibiscus
Half of A Yellow Sun
Americanah
And her short stories
Cell One
Apollo
The Song Bird
Feminist Manifesto
And others I can't remember right now...
Rest in peace Mama, we love you...

You have no idea.

Rushes of emotion looses the writer's pen o.

Good or bad, during such times the pen seems to have a life of its own.

It is what she knows how to do n does it well n in such times , trying to occupy her mind to atleast push dat sorrow away from her mind, cus she can't change what has happened, and in trying to accept what has happened she engulfs her self in her work , she writes those Epistles , loosing a parent , talkless of losing both in under a year my guy is hearth wrenching.

Still surprise...

However poets/writers have a way of turning a tragedy into a running chapter or better still a sea of epistle...

I attest to this. cry

Heart felt condolences to the family.
When in grief, one of the hardest steps is accepting the person has left this world and the realization that there is nothing you can do about it.

Is a heart shattering and biggest pain anybody can av, the pain of grief and bereavement! The pain of waking up and dialing someone's phone number only to be hit by " The person u re calling is unreachable " and u realize they re no more, God I can't bring myself to experience such devastating pain even envisioning it is so heart shattering, Y was death created? Will we ever see this person ever again in life? Does heaven actually exist? Or do we just die and cease to exist anymore? Cos don't tell me heaven is real cos I don't believe it is? Is just something someone came up with to make u look forward to seeing someone u may never see anymore, when u die, u die, ur essence doesn't exist anymore, that's wat I choose to believe so all this useless pastors can go t hell for all I care! Bastards/!
