Oyo Pdp Rejects Erubami's Transition Monitoring Group by wole123: 3:30pm On Apr 23, 2011
The Oyo State PDP has forwarded a petition to  Professor Attahiru Jega, the INEC Chairman rejecting the participation of Comrade Moshood Erubami led Transition Monitoring Group ( TMG ) in the monitoring of the governorship election in Oyo State on Tuesday 26th April. This is contained in a statement issued in Ibadan by the party's Director of Media and Strategy, Barrister Morohunkola Thomas.

The statement noted that a copy of the petition signed by Alhaji Bashiru Akanbi, Oyo PDP Secretary was copied to Oyo State resident electoral commissioner. It further noted that the petition was based on the fact that the leader of the Transition Monitoring Group, Moshood Erubami is a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria. Specifically, Erubami is a member of the Strategy and Planning Committee of the Senator Isiaka Ajimobi Campaign organisation.

The statement noted that more importantly, Comrade Moshood Erubami has for the past few days been recruiting members and supporters of the ACN in Oyo State as Domestic observers  for the Governorship  and State Assembly Election of 26th April 2011. The Oyo PDP has therefore decided not to accept the Transition Monitoring Group headed by Moshood Erubami to observe or monitor  any election in Oyo State. This is  in line with the principle of natural justice. A participant observer has  no place  in election monitoring.
