yes, a lot. I've been in similar situation but not the thought that the roach was from the pit of hell. I tried to kill it, but it messed with my illusion and I thought it disappeared. I knew it was impossible, so I searched for it. Guess what! I found it walking majestically close by. This time I went close and observed it, it did the same thing, but it didn't actually disappeared, it flew away.
But why didn't I see it at first, well that is because you weren't expecting it, they don't have a flying pattern and they have a high take off speed. So please not everything is spiritual, look more on the natural side.
