99 Must Read Nigerian Novels (1938 - 2013)

Nigeria has a rich literary culture. With that heritage in mind, we present our list of 100 must-read Nigerian novels published between 1938 and 2013. From Zaynab Alkali to Amos Tutuola, we included works by writers both male and female and from all across the nation. The novels range from stories of love to child-rearing to war – and sometimes all three. The list is by no means exhaustive – if we haven’t included your favourite, do add it in the comments section.

That's a very recent genre in the Nigerian space...

As such, you wouldn't expect to find a lot of practitioners in there.

You might be able to find some science-fiction-y books on Okadabooks. I don't read the genre and can't recommend any but you may find a gem there.

Ooh, I'm recalling a particular writer...Tochi somebody. I think he writes Sci-fi. His book was listed for an award somewhere.

There are, maybe not many, but they do exist.

Where can one get this books. Most are out of print and are not available for download. Please if you have a site that one can download Pacesetters series, African Writers Series and African University Press series.. or even where you can buy those old books, kindly help a brother. It's so sad that you can easily download an American wild western books written in 1920s but can't find a single site to download African books written 50 years latter.
