The funny thing is that a Nigerian cannot tell who is Igbo and who is Ikwerre, they all speak the same language and have the same name. Even Ijaw and Ogoni who are indigenous to Rivers State, dont know who is who unless told.

No matter who claims ownership of Portharcourt, any Nigerian is free to go there, live there and do whatever legitimate business they so wish.

OP, you are naive about the real owners of Porthacourt, Porthacourt is owned by the Okrikas.

The Ikweres own Diobu, a sub of the porthacourt township

This is simply confirming your view. The leader of the Ibo Union in the then proposed River State was reassuring his fellow River State indigenes that Igbos do not own Port-Harcourt and do not object to Port-Harcourt being carved out of Eastern Region along with Ikweres to be in River State.

Show us the full report. Who wrote this? Who edited it?
I know people who pronounce and write ‘house’ as ‘ouse’ or hat as at...The report says...The Union ‘as’ stated instead of ‘has’...what kind of mushroom newspaper and editor permitted that?

I can easily differentiate Igbos from Ikwerre and I am Rivers Ijaw, the language is distinct

The language is distinct? How? To say 'come' is 'Bia' in both Ikwerre and Igbo. What is distinct about that?

its not individual words but the language is distinct.
Just like Okrika and Kalabari are same but each has its own uniqueness

Igbo Union that write Igbo as Ibo is a questionable one
same goes to the newspaper

Then that means there is no Igbo language as everyone has there own dialect. Abakiliki have their own dialect, Enugu have their dialect, so does Imo, Anambra and Ikwerre. But they all understand each other. So who is then Igbo since everyone is speaking different dialects?

I said distinct.
Don't mistake the word distinct from different.

The Ikwerre's don't speak Igbo, they speak Ikwerre, ask an Ikwerre man which language he speaks, he will tell u Ikwerre, ask Anambra man and he'll tell u Igbo, the language is very much alike but some distinct differences.

Bille man speaks Kalabari but there is still difference and if u ask him which language he will tell u its Bille, A Kalabari man can communicate efficiently with Bille man but its not the same langugae

Only the Igbos feel Ikwerre language is their language, Ikwerre is slightly different, its difficult for an outsider to find the difference but for an Ikwerre man, he can easily differentiate and that's one if the main reason they tell u they aren't Igbos.

If a language is distinct, outsiders will not understand it. Once outsiders can understand the Ikwerre language, without having to learn it, then there is nothing distinct about it.

Ikwerre can claim to have have a distinct language if they want, but it will never take away from the fact that all Igbo speaking people understand what they are saying

Mr man, in all your comments, if you are not trying to convince yourself that Ikwerre is Igbo, you will be spreading the narrative about how Ikwerre people hate Igbos. The earlier you respect people for who they are, the better for you.
Ikwerre will not change their history or identity just because you want them to be Igbo.
Ikwerre don't share the same values with Igbo. Ikwerre speak Ikwerre language not Igbo. Some Ikwerre dialects say 'vaa' as come and not 'bia' if that is your only conviction.
All over the world we see different ethnicities sharing few things in common but still maintain their identities. There are even instances where ethnicities are formed purely based on religious affiliations. Even in Nigeria, we have Isoko and Urhobos as different ethnic groups even though they have a lot in common. They respect each other. Up North, you dont see the Hausa forcing 'hausaness' or whatever you call it on smaller ethnic groups like Chamba, Gwandara, Numan, Jokuns etc though they even share more things in common than the Ikwerre and Igbo.
The earlier you guys begin to respect others and realise that you can not force identity on any people, the better.
The only thing you can do is to continue with your insults and fabricated stories but trust me, it aint changing nothin'.
