The Fulani Conspiracy by Savie(m): 12:46pm On May 22, 2021 |
It’s been a sad and shocking 24
hours for us all. When the news
made its way on to social media it
first sounded fake. Then the official
organs confirmed it and we’ve all
been left shaking our heads in
disbelief.
Then the conspiracy theorists
began to yarn their plots and sub
plots. Try as they may nothing has
really stuck. A Biafran site even had
the photo of a similar aircraft with
a dark package stuck underneath
the aircraft carriage. Obviously
photoshopped. Unfortunately the
internet conmen behind the photo
were in such a hurry to spin the
story of a bomb explosion onboard
the aircraft, they did not study the
photograph enough. The Nigerian
officers in the photo were
disembarking and not embarking
on the photoshopped, “bomb
strapped’ aircraft. They ought to
post something a little more
convincing.
It is unfortunate that some
Nigerians think this man was
eliminated, these same Nigerians
have rejected the official line about
bad weather. Nothing you say will
convince them - the man was
eliminated - simple.
But something even more
disturbing got me thinking today.
Has it occurred to us what would
have happened if this man had
been a Southerner - a Yoruba man ,
Edo, Igbo, Ijaw or an Ibibio man?
Our current agitators, majority
made up of conspiracy theorists
would have gone into a violent war
dance. They would have fanned
ethnic embers into huge roaring
flames. “The Fulani occupiers have
eliminated our own”, would have
been their chants. Therefore I am
compelled to ask these ones, “Did
the Fulani occupiers therefore
eliminate their own handpicked
Northern military appointee?” Why
have they kept quiet about this?
In Nigeria we fanatically believe in
God but reject, simple unexplained
‘Acts of God’. Simple Accidents.
There must be something behind it.
It is too simple and too natural.
Acts of God are mysteries that
demand investigation in Nigeria.
And even when we say the mystery
has been solved - there remains
layers of conspiracies that remain
unsolved. I have had to come to
the conclusion that the Nigerian
mind is unnaturally convoluted. I
am myself sometimes guilty.
Conspiracies hide behind every
green leave and under every rock.
And this has fuelled our paranoia,
our superstition and suspicion
across tribes. Deep in the Nigerian
psyche is a deep mistrust about
everything, except maybe the air
we breathe. Could this be the
influence of culture?
In some parts of Nigeria you don’t
accept a drink in your brother’s
house until your brother or trusted
friend has poured the drink into
your empty cup and drunk out of it.
In my place the act is called,
“Removing the witchcraft or
poison”. I say the witchcraft is not
in the drink but in our minds. Is our
local culture steeped in mistrust,
that our perception is distorted and
this might explain why we are the
number one conspiracy capital of
the world. We are easy prey to
people who play on our minds. For
example there are some reading
this who still believe the man in
Aso Rock is a surgically enhanced
Sudanese. It’s funny but such
mindset is tragic.
Can we therefore simply believe
that the aircraft flew into bad
weather and was diverted from a
military strip to a civilian airport-
where it struggled to land and
unfortunately crashed.
May we be delivered from
conspiratorial minds and allow the
dead rest in peace. The bereaved
deserve an uncluttered space to
mourn.. |

In conclusion Nigeria is run and ruled by northerners,so what's our place here? I'm not going to be surprised if the next COAS is a northerner it has always been the modus operandi of Buhari. |

I like the attitude of Northerners for not believing in all kind of superstition & unnecessary accusations that can lead to tension. If Gen. Attahiru is a Southerner, the media outlets would have flooded with nonsense accusations that Fulani govt have killed their own, sending letters to UN, AUN, EU disgracing the sovereignty of our Nation. I remembered, the incident involving a Christian NAF pilot in Kaduna who was killed by Christian fellow on her visit to Igbo woman but still CAN, sociocultural groups and some important dignitaries tried to change the narration. To some people education is still far away from revolutionising their culture & conscience! |
