Do Nigerians Still Do This for Love of Humanity?

A man who couldn't last long in bed messaged me some days ago to that he desperately needs our book called Lasticle — he stumbled on our site, said he doesn't have 10k yet, but will come back soon for it.

Unknown to him, we are running a promo. He sent a message at 2 AM to buy the book and pleaded I should help him for 4k instead of the usual 10k on our site.

As a typical Nigerian, I would've sold that book to him for 4k, but I know the power of honesty, so I told him we are currently running a promo and if he had messaged us some hours ago, he would've gotten the book for just 1k, but since this is the 2nd of June, it's 2k.

He sent the 2k and got the book. He has saved himself the remaining 2k.

To most Nigerians, they'll call me stupid, but to a wise Nigerian, honesty will always pay you more in the long run.

So, my question is: do Nigerians still have conscience when it comes to money or has greed taken over? Will you consider me stupid for telling him?

I may not really be 100% a good person, but when it comes to being honest, I can't help it.

As a kid, one of the first thing our parents always remind us is: thou shall not lie.

Even when the society pushes me to the wall and I have no choice than to lie, I still remember that line and just stick to the truth.

It's really hard being honest in a world where people don't like it or see honest people as "not smart."

From the chat above, when I told him about it being 1k, but today it's 2k, he wasn't happy. If not that he desperately needed the book, he wouldn't have bought because he felt cheated after knowing others got it for 1k.

After I sent him the book, instead of replying with "Thank you," he replied with "Okay." I knew he is not happy. He felt I have cheated him, when in truth, I saved him 2k.

Hahaha. I'll try not to be gay, but, it is what it is.

About watering the value down, that is true. Most people that buy at promo rate don't have it and they may not even read it. I'm stop the promo either today or tomorrow.

I'll delete all posts I have made about the promo. It has already generated my projection.
