I suggest United States of Nigeria (USN) or United Nigerian Republic (UNR) where the present Nigeria shall be divided into 15 countries.

Fejoku:
There's no single thing fulanis do for the benefit of the indigenous people of Nigeria. The real aim of the new proposed name is to mask the many fulanis that have entered Nigeria of recent. With this name, they can't be regarded as foreigners anymore. This is the exact reason for the UAR name. Any other reason they give is just to cover up t○heir intentions. Ask yourself why they don't about how to stop the massacre of the various middle belt tribes? It is not debated in the senate?
Don't be misled by them. Let us insist on the division of Nigeria. Thereafter, they arewa can change their name to UAR.

Best reasons ever....

No matter how many times a leopard changed it's environment, it'll always be a leopard . It doesn't change spot.

NIGERIA or UAR won't make it change.

The only way a leopard may change it's spot/behavior is by giving birth to new cubs.

Only legends will understand my quote.

Well, it is a good idea but in my own opinion, it is the people we need to change. You may change name times and times over but if the people are not changed it is a waste of time.
The mindset of Africans and especially Nigeria and Nigerians need some touching.
Greediness, selfishness etc are part of us.
Those ruling us are there to serve themselves, Is it because of name?
To name a person Olorire (Great man) does that make him great?
How many people have good names yet ends up miserably?
We need to change our mindset and until then, no progress even if name Nigeria USA 2 or UK 2 or UAE 2.
People made those places great not names.
Work on people and the result will be amazing

Nigerians just criticize things blindly, the idea of changing name ,with changing constitution, changing leaders ,in sort change everything is a cool one, we can't continue to repeat same mistakes

I boldly support

1. Change of constitution
2. Change of old leaders
3. Empower the local governments

Lol libertarian disputes ni..

What Nigeria need's, is a focused iron fisted individual with a strong disposition towards industrialization and discipline.

Keep quiet; some of you that know nothing almost about governance are always quick to make noise. A simple dissection of your counter post has shown that you know nothing about the characteristics of a true libertarian leader, citing your almost counter and affirmation of my post at the same time, even though ignorantly done.

Hey! Don't expect me to give you further attention.

Off course I do.. let me simplify..

Freedom..

Nigeria doesn't need freedom, it needs a iron fist, industries and disciplined people.

You're simply trying to import American politics in, not something that came out of your own individual mind.

hmmm.....changing the name of the country changes nothing!yes,we saw in the bible where names were changed by GOD bcs HE wanted to use them eg abram to abraham, saul to paul, jacob to israel and the rest of them.u shuld note, that, this was the wish of GOD and not of some people turning themselves to the saviour of the people!every nigerian must repent so that the CREATOR can heal this nation!THERE ARE TOO MANY SINNERS IN THE COUNTRY!!
