The facts is, no matter how many go ahead downloading VPN on their mobile to access Twitter, there will still be a big drop in numbers of people that will be active and using Twitter in Nigeria.

Now the worst part are the security agencies for instance the Police once they hear something like Twitter is banned and they’ve hear about VPN, you can’t escape their stop and search and once they stroll through your phone and see things like that, don’t even bother to defend yourself, you are an automatic criminal . You will be branded one and the abuse will continue.

This is a myopic decision yet by the FG, I hope they review this in time absolutely.

The Nigerian government will have to arrest all of us. And that includes our senators and their families

True that. But the question is, is this really a democratic government?

The poster up there is just paranoid

For all of you bragging about vpn.

Using a free vpn is a waste of time. To enjoy vpn you need to pay for it.

Anyway, Nigerian entrepreneurs can fill in the gap.

Nairaland should enjoy a massive traffic if Twitter is truly banned.

Absolutely, I understand your point, but am also trying to see the effects of it on the major economy and security parts, because have works with brands researching on different market visibility on Twitter and others. So is quite very shaky.

I make money from adevrtising my goods on Twitter and for every single retweet I'm sure of getting more clients from my tweepers. Now FG is throwing the platform out... Back to square one.

It will definitely affects lots of people. I know some numbers of brands that will be heavily affected by this as well.
