Better to live in a weak Republic like Lesotho than endure the mindless human slaughter going on in Nigeria .

One Nigeria is a crime against humanity.

Op is the kind of person content with living a life of mediocrity. Imagine the gains from belonging in Nigeria is ability to ban twitter. What load of nonsense. A giant of africa that is the 2 poorest nation in the world, that can't give accurate data on it's population, no of unemployed, birth or death rates, a nation that can't provide basic infrastructure needed for industralization, a nation still building ajakuota since 1978. A nation that can't feed its citizens, can't create jobs, can't protect it's farmers etc.
This is the kind of nation some parasites like the op is content with. A life of mediocrity, zero contribution to humanity.

Oh, that's just your inferiority complex talking.

YOU may have not contributed anything to humanity, but I can assure you that a great many Nigerians have, and will do, well into the future.

Here's a word of advice: Be like the Indians, who share our development challenges, but who see them not as reasons to hate and despise their country, but as business opportunities.

Your country can't create jobs? Well YOU go on YouTube, learn a skill for free, start a small business, and end up big, employing 100 Nigerians.

Many have done something similar here in Nigeria. Why can't YOU?

Your junior launched a startup called Paystack in Yaba, Lagos, which was acquired a couple months ago by US giant tech platform Stripe, for 200 million dollars.

So, great things are happening in Nigeria.

Will YOU be part of them, or will you remain disgruntled, sitting on the fence, pointing fingers and being useless?

You don't know what you have until you lose it.

Visit Sierra Leone or Liberia. You will quickly rush back to Nigeria.

The people there are poor, and don't expect to become wealthy one day, like we all do in Nigeria, because of the sheer amount of opportunity and market size in this country.

Nigeria is a country where you can start by selling spare parts in the market, and from there become owner of the largest black-owned vehicle manufacturer on Earth. INNOSON. Pride of Nigeria.

Don't be deluded that everyone in Nigeria wants separation. Many SAY they do, but it's largely out of temporal frustration which a new administration or economic upturn could fix.

The business community of all ethnicities are not clamouring for separation.

They understand the importance of a large consumer market.

And they call the shots at the end of the day.

Your references for buttressing your points are not only myopic, but laughable. Let me bring you back to your senses as it is clear you are either deluded or clearly running away from facts!

1. Liberia vs Nigeria: Economic Indicators Comparison
Nigeria with a GDP of $397.3B ranked the 32nd largest economy in the world, while Liberia ranked 164th with $3.3B. By GDP 5-years average growth and GDP per capita, Nigeria and Liberia ranked 132nd vs 161st and 149th vs 186th, respectively.

2. Exports- Liberia $774.80 million
Ranked 156th.

Nigeria $95.68 billion
Ranked 38th. 123 times more than Liberia.

3. Gross National Income Liberia $459.13 million
Ranked 143th.

Nigeria $37.13 billion
Ranked 48th. 81 times more than Liberia.

Most of you supporting this government lack basic critical thinking as you guys are either dealing with extreme psychological disorders or just plain stupidd to make foolish comparisons with sister nations forgetting that Nigeria was once the giant of Africa and the only country financing the AU in the 60’s to early 90’s.

Nigeria's dream is simple. To take Africa and the black world to the next level.

She has all the tools to do it, MOST IMPORTANTLY HER POPULATION SIZE, which is her NUMBER 1 ASSET.

That guarantees that world investment capital will flow in her direction.

When investment capital flows in your direction, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DEVELOP. grin

IT WILL SIMPLY JUST HAPPEN.

It's like when a fine girl is heading your way with nice big boobs, fine face and huge bakassi.

You will have no choice but to arrange yourself to receive her well. grin

It explains why the FG is spending so much on infrastructural development and upgrades of rail, roads, airports, bridges etc.

They know what is coming, and that Nigeria must be ready for it.

Like invention, NECESSITY is the mother of development.

Investment capital is not money that goes into the pockets of govt officials.

No company is coming to Nigeria to give politicians money.

This is capital that is going into manufacturing, agriculture, agro-processing, IT, financial and other services, construction, urban and rural development projects etc etc.

There is no way Nigeria will not become a developed nation at some point in the near future, based on this investment TSUNAMI heading its way.

The only set of people that wants Nigeria to remain one are the northerners and middle belters, the middle belters because they do not want to be swallowed by the terrorist north and I can bet this op is a middle belter.
How can a country progress without security? Everyday you see news like 500 students kidnapped, 150 farmers butchered, 80 villagers killed, tanker explosion kills 50. Are these the kind of news to give us relief in this country, a country where one is running from army, police, bandits, herdsmen, fulani, kidnappers, cultists, ritual pastors and imams, yahoo Boys etc.

This country should be included in the 1000 ways to die, surviving in this country is only by the grace of God.

I used to believe in Nigeria, sadly I wanted Gej gone and pmb in, it the one thing in this life I wish I could take back

The good thing is his government has shown us nigeria as it really is
A failed state, a country without a future, a space that kills it's own, robs it's citizens and continuously impoverishes them

Ever wondered why the country never progresses , always backwards, same contracts still awarded after been awarded over a decade ago

I have come to the conclusion that those in power have intentionally put the country and her people under for their personal benefit and as such the only way to progress is to Split into as many parts as possible
If we want a united nigeria

1. It must be regional with each region in full control of her resources, security etc else Nigeria is dead and gone

2. Everyone in government past and present must be tried for crimes against Nigerians

3. The Assets sold to their cronies must be retrieved

4. Everyone that has been a victim of the rulers and the failed state must be compensated

5. Finally we will end the current constitution and everyone will be involved in the new one

OBJ was right. Whether you are Ibom Republic, Oduduwa Republic, Biafra Republic, or whatever.

The story will be the same.

Your new republic will be a tiny weak bitch of the western powers just like Equatorial Guinea. They have oil money, which one dictator just sits there sharing among his family and local/foreign cronies, while the population sees little to nothing.

Here's what your president would do.

He will hire foreign mercenaries from say Israel or USA, plus his elite troops to guard his palace, and he will clamp down on opposition, be highly corrupt, and he will have the backing of the western powers.

If he tries to turn good leader and develop the country, he will be assassinated or have western-sponsored rebels sent against him, to topple him.

That's how it works with small, resource-rich African countries.

That's the script that been in operation since before you were born.

Today, you live in a country that has the power and authority to ban Twitter, a major international player.

Your tiny new republic's President will not have the audacity or capacity to ban Twitter.

One threatening phone call from a US marshal, or the French President's SECRETARY, to topple the government in a coup or military invasion, and the idea will be dropped like a hot potato.

I mean, the French govt will be all over you like a rash.

They specialize in subjugating and robbing small West African countries.

Your leader couldn't do anything without their express approval.

They might force you to adopt the French Franc, using all sorts of blackmail methods, denying you a currency, and controlling your money flow.

Are Nigeria's problems insurmountable? Hell no. All it takes is a change of administration to a southern president, as per rotation policy, in a year and half, and suddenly, the south holds power to change things, like PDP did for 16 years (and misused it).

The new southern administration could restructure Nigeria to their hearts content, and that would be that.

Why PDP never did this, I haven't a clue. Expecting a northern administration to now do it, is madness, when YOU couldn't do it as a southern govt.

The Fulani threat is seriously overblown.

Where were they in the 16 years of PDP rule?

Nowhere. They were quiet.

So they are not worth breaking Nigeria up for.

So Nigeria is doable.

Your solution is not to turn into little, insignificant Sierra Leones, Togos, and Malawis.

''Weak republics'', as they were termed by General Olusegun Obasanjo, respected African statesman.

Nations who sneeze, and nobody hears.

Nigeria must stand.

The ONE black nation on Earth that can ban Twitter.

Have them crawling to her to beg for forgiveness, being Africa largest and most buoyant internet ecosystem.

You will miss Nigeria if you lose Her.

The light of the Giant of Africa, the hope of every black man on Earth, Africa's largest economy and rising superpower, the cultural, musical, film, fashion and sports capital of Africa, projected to become the world's 3rd most populous nation after India and China BY 2050, VIRTUALLY GUARANTEEING her industrial and economic advancement, and her investment magnet status as the world's 3rd largest consumer market, THAT LIGHT, THAT HOPE OF THE BLACK RACE, NIGERIA, must not be extinguished from the Earth.

How exactly are they ''doing better'' than Nigeria?

Rwanda's GDP per capita is 820 USD compared to Nigeria's 3,000.

Namibia is just a small version of South Africa, with the minority whites owning much of the wealth, while the blacks live in penury.

Can u elaborate on the bolded part with reference to South Africa? I'm particularly interested in the proportion of blacks living in "penury" as u claim. Bear in mind that I'm South African.

Botswana have done great, but they have a lot of experience in statecraft, as Africa's oldest democracy, having established a marriage of traditional and western government systems, and created a system that works based on learning from past mistakes.

They also benefit from being proximate to the advanced large, South African economy with whom they do a lot of business.

But they are a drop in the ocean. They are literally the ONLY small African nation doing well. So statistically, the chances of your new republic becoming a 'Botswana' are 1 in 50.

Are you willing to take that chance and risk becoming a Sierra Leone, Guinea, or South Sudan instead?

Oil dey your head. Almost everyone demanding for self rule are temporarily frustrated with the situation of things, not really because of agitation as a result of Identity. Watch a person with nuff spine and will take the lead, as see the silence in those agitations. Tbh, I love this country. I really do not want this country to break, irrespective of anything. What most people think is breaking away to form independent countries will ultimately solve their problems, it will still stay the same if we as countrymen refuse to change our ways that set us back and make us less human. We really need to be kind to each other first, we need to love and understand each other more, and we need a change of heart first. I find so much joy in an ibo man or an hausa man doing well far from his home in another land, so also I find so much joy in a yoruba man doing well in another man's land far from his own home. We really need each other. This politicians knows play mind games on us, they feast fat on our own selfishness and greed, and that's what is stagnating us the more. The evil we do our fellow countrymen is far worse than what those at the helms of affairs do to us, even though it's a consequence of their own inhumanity to their own countrymen. If need be, we should all go back to regional system that allows each region to move at it's own pace, according to the resources it has at it's disposal.

A prosperous country is the one that is capable of securing itself, has a stable economy, good GDP, has many great international brands and is a strong global player or a strong player in a competitive region. This is why Japan is one third of Nigeria but is the third biggest economy in the world. Israel is the size of a state in Nigeria but it is the most powerful and stable country in the middle east, as well as a world power. But Nigeria is not even underdeveloped; it's a failed state.

What has your so call strong federal charcter republic achieve...

Unity begger

In a country where an Igbo man is not allowed to rule the country. Nigeria can go to hell.

I prefer a country where my people can aspire to the highest office of the land. Not a country where we are not in control of our destiny because my people are kept out of the corridors of power.

I choose Biafra any day anytime.

YOU SOUND LIKE SQUEALER IN THE ANIMAL FARM.
IGBO NATION CANT HAVE A DICTATOR,THE ONLY REPUBLICANS IN THE MILKY WAY

You ALREADY have a dictator.

He ordered you all not to leave your houses on the day he commanded or get shot!

Do you think Kanu is the type to submit to free and fair elections?

I mean, from your rebel leaders' conduct, we can already see the type of governments you will have.

Like something out of the Mobutu era.

Obindigbo:

What you are saying is real and good but you can't base a country's growth by its population growth, these people that you are saying will be born, where will they see the money and resources to purchase these goods and make Nigeria a competitive and big market, even new and small countries can increase in population and there by their purchasing power will become so strong, i only support this issue of Biafra because of how the elites have reduced this country's economy to nothing, if security can be fixed, economy fixed to raise the standard of living of the common man, this present constitution removed and a new one enacted, and tribe and region abolished in the new constitution and everyone will be recognized as Nigerians without discrimination in appointment of officials into the government and a rotational presidency, if these can be done within a year, believe you me, secession will die a natural death in Nigeria, but its better to belong to a tiny country where there will be employment, equity, fairness, justice and where every leader will be held accountable to their actions when in office than to be a Nigerian at the moment

If you are not able to hold your state government to account today, how will you be able to hold your new small country's govt to account?

Are you aware the leadership will comprise pretty much the SAME people leading your state today?

In the new country, they will have the added benefit of full control of the military, so how will you hold them to account?

You are very naive in thinking that corruption will cease just because you have a new small country. If anything, it will become easier. And there will be no EFCC.

Exactly

Regionalism
