Luke 18:38 (NLT) - So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

It’s no news that we live in trying times, high unemployment, insecurity, increasing poverty. Someone somewhere is going through very difficult times.

The bible verse is a story of a blind man who was on the road side begging for money, he heard the noise of a crowd and asked what was happening. He was told “Jesus was passing”.

This blind man immediately realized this could definitely be the day he would receive his sight. If only he could see, his problems would be over. If he could see, he could find work, he can stop begging, he can stop having to depend on family, friends and strangers who are even tired of caring of him; hence the reason he is by the road side begging. Most importantly he recognized that the person passing (Jesus) can do what no other human can do for him.

What was his course of action? He shouted! The kind of shout that drowns out the noise of a crowd. He shouted with every ounce of energy he had - “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”. He shouted so much that people in crowd became irritated and told him to keep quiet. People that give him very little to no help on a normal day wanted to shut him up.

The later part of that story is that Jesus heard and asked him to be brought to him. He asked the blind man, what he wanted and the man replied that he wanted to see. He replied with the most pressing issue of his life. The issue that has been ridiculing him for years.

Jesus granted his request and immediately he could see. The blind man’s life was changed dramatically in a split second all because he reached out to Jesus for help.

I have good news for someone today, Jesus is passing. What is that issue of your life that you have been weeping over. Jesus is passing, won’t you cry for help?! The help of man is elusive and very limited but I can assure you that there is nothing impossible with Jesus and He is always willing to help.

If you want help that never fails, please pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I know I am a sinner, Please forgive me my sins and have mercy on me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Amen

Now make your pressing request known to Jesus. I can assure you that you would testify in the might name of Jesus. Shalom.
