I want to encourage you if youre thinking about learning or in the process of learning a digital skill like animation, web design, any form of graphic design etc. There are too much digital skill to pick from.

The truth is Covid 19 brought with it many positives. One being the fact that you are more likely to get hired than ever by people around the world if you have a digital skill and you are good at it. Everybody saw that it is so easy and perhaps cheaper to get things done online. And I'm not making this up.


So if you are learning, keep it up. Self motivation is key. Everyone who has become better at what they do today will tell you they struggled with self motivation at some point. I mean, it took me 5 years on and off to finally sit to learn 3d animation and video editing. And no matter how terrible your work may seem at first, it gets better.

I posted one of my early 3d animation videos on nairaland about 3 years ago. I was in haste to post so people can see what I could do. I got a lot of criticism here. Some other negative comments I got, I was discouraged or so i thought they were negative. But today I have a 3D company that is WIP www.edumationstudio.com . My work has gotten so better (I'm still learning a lot of things though) and I've had the opportunities to work on a lot of good projects. It gets better really. But you must know what you're doing and ask the right questions. And by the way, I taught myself all through asking Google questions and using YouTube and many trial and error.


As for if digital skill is rewarding, the answer is most digital skills are rewarding as long as you learn how to locate your clients. It's important. Passion will not put food on your table. So as you're learning, ensure you're also learning how to monetize that skill when you eventually become good enough. There are a lot of people stuck with their skills and they do not know what to do with it. Learn how to monetize it.
