What's your take on the newly announced OLED Nintendo switch?

Nintendo will release a new version of the Nintendo Switch this October, the company announced Tuesday. The new Nintendo Switch, officially named “Nintendo Switch (OLED model),” will cost $349.99, $50 more than the price of the original Switch that launched in 2017.

The new Nintendo Switch will boast a larger, 7-inch screen and an OLED display when it launches on Oct. 8 (the same day Metroid Dread launches). The standard Switch has a 6.2-inch LCD screen, and outputs a 1080p feed when docked. The Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will feature a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 and maximum frame rate of 60 fps, according to hardware specifications listed on Nintendo’s website. As with the original Switch, that applies in docked mode; the OLED model’s built-in screen still features a resolution of 1280x720. Contrary to previous reports, the system does not appear to support 4K resolution when docked.

The new Switch will also offer an adjustable stand that is as long as the unit itself, a dock that includes a wired Ethernet port, 64 GB of internal storage, and “enhanced audio” from the system’s internal speakers. Nintendo says that existing Joy-Cons will be compatible with the OLED model, and that the new Switch will be compatible with the full library of already-released Nintendo Switch games.

The new system will come in two color variations: one with white Joy-Cons and a white dock, and the other with traditional red and blue Joy-Cons and a black dock.

I still wonder how Nintendo remains present in the console market. My sister bought a Wii one time in 2010 or so. I don’t think the console stayed on up to four times. It was dumped and completely ignored by everyone in her household.

The last Nintendo product i ever touched was the Nintendo Gamecube donkey years ago, lmao. That company only provides and makes its dough from handhelds now. It cant compete in the console market against Sony and Microsoft.

So here is my thinking, there is a small - big niche market for Nintendo, not necessarily in this side of the world (Nigeria) but they have loyal gamers that are willing to keep them going
This is where we are today
Cause looking at the hardware, they really have nothing to offer in terms of graphical power

Who is using the Nintendo Switch? I can't figure out if this device has a camera? My friends say no, but I read on the blog that Nintendo Switch has a camera.

Hehe, there is a market for the Nintendo, I admit
But in our ends (Nigeria) when most people can only afford a gaming console. Most people would rather go for the highest console with the best specs (ie - ps4 or xbox1.., ps5 and Xbox seriesx cost Abeg)
And if you do the maths a Nintendo switch costs almost the same thing with this our regular consoles
Ṣe you get?

Because Nintendo has been making handhelds from the late 80s to early 90s and still up till this point with the popular character Mario. Its a sphere that Nintendo does so well in and there's no way Sony can compete with that so its best they divert resources to what makes them one of the biggest players in the Game industry which is consoles. Microsoft didn't bother to make handhelds because they knew they cant dominate that field. I just miss the console days of Nintendo.

Hahahaha, man you will be shocked by how many people love those cartoon games. That's why Nintendo is still in business up till this day. Sony is content that their bread and butter (playstation consoles) as well as exclusive console titles (spiderman, god of war, etc) is still bringing in trailer loads of dough.

Sony could have done so much with the vita, but they buried the console
Very very expensive proprietor memory cards
Lacking major AAA games
Console was too damn expensive also
