The question of "Why hasn't there been a FEMALE Chief of Army Staff, Air Staff, Naval Staff, General Staff, IGP?" has always popped up in my head, and it's one question that really disturbs me... I have been unable to find answers to it... Even though I am a male, I am very much concerned about the high rate of female discrimination in military and police force in the World, looking at Nigeria as a very good case study.

The ironical thing is that it is not as if there are no qualified female to occupy these positions, but THE MALES in the system feel those positions are not meant for, or worthy enough to be held by THE FEMALES, and this shouldn't be so in my own opinion!

My fellow Nairalanders, what's your own opinion on this?

Even US just had its first female General at pentagon a few years back... Worldwide there are lesser Female pilots

The major problem women have with top careers is marriage and child bearing how hormones affect their ability

Take a look at Serena Williams, before she married and had a baby, she was on top of her game , she smashing titles everytime, now she married and had a first child then she got abit heavier and started flopping to people not in her category

The question should how many females in the current Nigerian Military has a rank above the Major rank. Those post you mentioned are given based on years of service and I don't we have any female that have served long enough to take the position. We do need a rank of a Major general to get those positions.
