President Mohammed Buhari swore to be the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Having been voted into office by all Nigerians, he is obliged to protect the interest of all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, religious differences and political parties. However, Buhari has turned himself into a puppet in the hands of the Fulani supremacists. They are the ones driving the agenda of the government. Their policies have all been geared towards subjugating the rest of the country under the oppression and domination of Fulani herdsmen, bandits and Boko Haram. This made the indigenous peoples affected to rise up in self defense.

Surprisingly, the efforts by the indigenous peoples to protect their lives and property are being resisted by the presidency. Not only is the presidency attacking these people, the right to live and protect lives is being criminalized by the presidency, Garba Sheu and other northern interests who see the people concerned as conquered subjects with no rights whatsoever.

However, the southern solidarity and protests against Buhari are a pointer to the emerging fact that Buhari is fast becoming the leader of the Fulani to the exclusion of other ethnic nationalities that make up the country.

Buhari still have the opportunity to respect the federal structure of the country and drop the evil agenda of grabbing land from some people while pretending to defend Nigeria's indivisibility and unity. He should know that if he could fail as a military head of state, he stands no chance as a democratically elected president if he does not see himself as the president of Nigeria.

It was very clear abinitio that from the antecedents of Buhari, there was no way he would have made a better president but APC dusted him up, paid PR company and wore him Igbo attire and suit only to decieve gulible Nigerians into voting for him. For all those that voted for Buhari in 2015, may God forgive you all but for those who voted for him in 2019, may you and your generation never know peace.

Buhari is a revelation that Nigeria is structurally deficient. As a product of the military, the institution that symbolizes our unity and cohesion, Buhari has rubbished whatever is left of Nigeria's fragile unity and togetherness.
