Di Maria got accolades. Focus has been on Messi for not winning a senior team national trophy in football.
Moreover, he played a crucial role for the team throughout the tournament and even had to play with his injury.
Ronaldo is a star, and should get attention as well. But back then, the heartbreaking goal from Eder at the dying minute should at least get him some media attention. Anyway, it is past now.
