There were no real elections in S’East, S’South –Sagay

A former university lecturer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Prof. Itse Sagay, yesterday x-rayed the just-concluded 2011 general elections and declared that there were no real elections in the South East and South South geopolitical zones of the country.

Speaking at a roundtable talk on the 2011 elections organised by the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Sagay hinged his verdict on the premise that the elections in the two zones were marred by multiple registration, gross irregularities and monumental fraud. According to him: "The international observers have misled us, the media has misled us. The 2011 elections are far from being free and fair. There were no elections in the South East and South South and that is where Goodluck Jonathan is going to have problem at the election tribunal.

Those who will help him at the tribunal will see it clearly that there were rigging stupidity’’. Sagay, who is a former lecturer at the University of Benin said if he were the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, he would cancel elections in the South East and South South because the results of the elections were suspicious and "manufactured overnight’’ . He said: "Jega is a very honest person but terribly naive. He should stop deceiving himself because there was no correlation between the figures of the presidential and gubernatorial elections in the South East and South South like the figures declared in the South West and the North where elections actually took place."

This guy was really brave to say the truth, The election was far from being free and fair. We moved away from the very shmabolic elections of OBJ and Iwu but we are still far from being there.

I think jega Under estimated the extent the PDP would go to rig the election. They infilterated the dreaded ' Collation centers' and made sure they rigged the elections in their favour.

As for the Presido election results in the SS and SE, hmmmmmmm, we are all witnesses!!! We shall await the Forensic results that would be done on these ballot papers soonest (If the ruling govt thru the courts and INEC would allow)

Unless the nation is built on a foundation of Justice and Equity, we would all be wasting time and just doing like the proverbial ostrich who buried its head in the sand,

Go and tell Prof Sagay that he is a fool. I and my family voted GEJ in Imo State and there is no way people should vote for that Taliban for President.

Whether you argue that the figure was inflated or not should be done with proof nor guess. Foolish Prof

All of you saying the figures in the south-east and south-south are not real should shut up already. If you can't provide proof to backup your claims it's better you leave things the way they are.
