A football player identified as Jonah has died after he slumped during a football match in Nasarawa State, Reports.

Details of his death are still sketchy at the time of this Report, however, it was gathered that the incident happened at the weekend in Angwa- Ali in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

"Rest in peace.... Friend who turn brother... Akwanga will miss u, Depot football team will miss u, Angwa-ali will miss u but I will miss u more" Okefu Abraham wrote on Facebook.

I was playing football in my hostel yesterday and I noticed during the course of the game, my intestines were clogging and there was obvious interruption of my circulation, I was panting heavily. I left the pitch to rest for awhile, there was improvement but I didn't play again. It's not as if anyone is even paying me.

You healthcare system failed you.

I lost a cousin last week Saturday in Lagos due to this same issue.

He fell while playing street football and on the spot he gave up the ghost.

The young athlete most likely died from a cardiac arrest. A cardiac arrest can happen to the fittest of persons without a symptom.

Boom! The heart of a man who was very healthy just stops.

It happened to Christian Eriksen at an international stage recently. We believed that sports stakeholders, especially those at grassroot levels, would learn the importance of timely CPR and a defibrillator for cases like this.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and teammates.

It's very important to always check your blood pressure if above 130/90 please seek medical attention
