Today, 28th July 2021 is yet another sad day for the country, as a bus conveying prospective corp members who have been posted to Kastina state had an accident, of which fatality (total number uncertain) has been recorded already. According to statistics, road accidents remains the leading cause of loss of corps members, far more than insecurity or any other concerns.

Several propositions has been made by the public, which included scrapping the whole scheme but some other stakeholders believe the scheme has the capacity to launch graduates into their careers and also give them entrepreneural skills.

In the light of this, I am suggesting that the Federal Government, in conjunction with airlines can draft out a workable plan, whereby corp members (and prospective) will be eligible to obtain flight tickets at significant discounts during their service year in order to reduce the regrettable loss caused by road accidents. May God grant us all the fortitude to bear the loss.
