There have been some argument about how many objective question should be given to student ins school exam?

I have an opinion that the questions should be patterned along with the exams you are preparing the student for.
Setting 50 objective multiple choice question should be the least for a senior secondary school student with the exemption of further mathematics and give them the proportionate time for the questions, it seems school owners are trying all possible ways to simplify the system or they are saving cost for exam paper.
How many questions do you think it is OK?
How many questions do your school give in the objective section?

It depends on subjects... For maths, f maths chemistry and physics 20 obj is okay... For biology, agric, geo, economics, govt 25-30 is okay... While English, Lit should be 50 at least

But the exam they are preparing for contains 50 or 60 objective questions.
Don't you think it will not give them the required stamina they need to face such challenge if the are not trained in similar condition?

Yeah u are right, but its not wise to go up to that number in terms examination as making of script would be difficult. Moreover more marks are from the theory aspect which I think many schools should always make answer 5 out of 8

So you agree that it is out of laziness or lack of motivation to work, that brought the ideal of 10 - 20 objective. Yeah the objective is 40% of the entire mark in WAEC SSCE
What will you say about theory part that is divided into section A and B
do you think answer 5 questions will be OK.

Definitely its laziness that's making people opt for low obj questions as well as saving money in the typing... But then the theory aspect still carries more weight and any candidates that has passed through a good theoretical questions should be able to conquer whatever no of obj questions he faces... Simply saying that good theory practice is better than 50 obj questions which will make the student lazy

Sometimes it isn't laziness but time. Don't forget in Waec a full day is used to write the exam.

If we should do that to all subjects, the students will be exhausted and it will take up to a month for them to completely write all their exams.

Whereas in a standard syllabus only one week is given for writing of exams.

So how do we incorporate all those lapses

Also don't forget that waec assess students knowledge of the concept from what they have been taught in Sss1-3. That is why it is bulky

So I believe you can actually arrive at a standard assessment of the students using 20 objective question, by the way what is the total number of topics in a term?

Set your questions to cover all this areas and I believe it is doable.

Do you feel that we are not assessing the students enough or that waec standard has to be followed ( which I say that it is two different thing).
