The US or Russian army will not have a base and have active insurgents around them waiting to be attacked. See the US occupation base in Syria. A 50 mile radius or kill zone is around the base.
Where will you see insurgents have the capacity to attack a Russian or US military base when rather the insurgents are on the run from steady arial and ground attacks?
Russia was able to arrive Syria and setup shop ie airstrip in a hot war zone without any major attack on that base till date. At any point in time 2 MI35 where on patrol over the base 24 hrs, how do you want to attack?
Anyway the picture on this post is good. It shows the army have started giving drones to each patrol. Just imagine the situational awareness they will have with a drone 500 feet above.

Exactly you just pointed out the real picture. Ion think NA got enough drones even with the little aircraft we get, if Army put a distress call across to the NAF they're either not responding to the call or come late in which when they come sef they turn the muzzle to the Ground troops. you send these folks on Night attacks without Night visions spectacles and want a good result.

The truth is, Nigerian Army is strong tbh they just need Generals and government with the country's interest at heart
