The sudden news of Lionel Messi's departure from Barcelona came as a shock to most football fans. A lot of people expected him to end his career in the Laliga as he has spent most of his playing career with them.

Despite Messi agreeing to a five-year deal with a pay cut at the club, the Legend was still asked to leave because of the financial situation.

According to Fabrizio, the player was meant to renew his contract with the club today and an announcement has already been scheduled but to his greatest surprise, Barcelona told him that his renewal has been blocked by Laliga and will not be able to sign.
