BRATISLAVA Go to YouTube. Check out Mark Wiens videos on Ghana, specifically the Kumasi episode where he was OPPORTUNED to be served this meal in a Kumasi home, and come back with a reply. That green cocoyam leaf is extremely delicious. Ghanaians don't joke with it. It's very flavourful, like how shrimps are. Get a correct Ghanaian to serve you this meal

BRATISLAVA:

Does it actually taste good?

Why is the fish white and not gutted?

Is it normally served in plastic basins? Does it affect the taste? Why eggs? Is that actually palm oil?

This is quite a strange meal. The origins will be interesting.

The poster might be mischievous but yeah, this is a very popular Ghanaian traditional dish.

You guys are quick to accept English or USA food but not traditional African food.

Incredible!

I can accept the pic you attached, though I wouldn't eat everything on the plate, not that one the OP used. The food combination looks like there could be anything on that plate, even strawberries.

I eat any native foods wherever I find myself, I eat widely, but the one from the OP looks unappetizing. Suspect it's a troll doing their do because—look at it.
Re: This Breakfast I Gave My Husband by mdntiri(m): 6:15pm On Aug 08, 2021
I'm sure it's already salted fish that has been boiled, reason for it's "pale" look. It goes well with the meal
nedekid:

Sorry to ask? Is that fish cooked? Or is the fish eaten raw? Cos it does not seem to have been cut opened and gutted.

So it's coco yam leaves. I guess it could taste good. I would be interested in eating it, perhaps with an oil reduction and the fish being grilled.

The pics are not inviting, though.

This is called ' Ebo ' in Yoruba

Even with the Calabash-looking bowl. Good for offering sacrifices to Yemoja and the other demi gods.

Thumbs up , OP. More grease to your elbow. And more oyel (as in, oil ) to your soups , as the one in the photo attached to your post.
Best wishes.
