As a great event in benin It seems that everything we need to know about benin were actually documented by the europeans, maybe the europeans pitted we couldn't write and so they saw there will be a need to help the benins document their own history the best they could ... 2 Likes 1 Share

Reminds me when we too in the Orolu Kingdom used to celebrate yam festival. People will dig up 3 year old yam so big that you'd be proud to pay for a wife in yam. These days no one plants yam anymore because as soon as it is 9 months old, some thief will come and harvest it for you, or rather for themselves, in the middle of the night whilst you slept and you'd end up eating worthless gari! 2 Likes |

gregyboy: I wonder if it's really worth it. I mean, now that I am not planting yam my people have nothing to steal. And what I do plant is unstealable since its so valuable that I can afford to plant it inside a room and hire security for it. |
