Only a man who has spent the last 10 years on Mars will not know that Buhari does not like and cannot like Tinubu because of their very different leadership philosophy approach to Governance.

Buhari is a typical Northerner. Conservative, gradualist and dedicated to centrist control of power typified by bloated and inefficient bureaucracy. His school of thought will always host a hesitant attitude to badly needed reform.

They eill follow policies geared towards creating societies where innovation is stifled/feared by a ruling elite who then try to slow the proliferation of cutting-edge ideas and thinking that stimulates radical economic progress and growth eg State Policing.

Tinubu, like Awolowo, is a reformer and visionary always ready to embrace radical change that can advance society rapidly. He is a capitalist who believes individual productivity, innovation, economic creativity, innovative funding of infrastructure and a meritocratically competitive environment should stimulate and drive society quickly and aggressively.

Of course Buhari would never favour Tinubu same as the North, after they had enviously seen what Awolowo did and how he put Yorubas unassailably ahead in the past, vowed never to allow Obafemi Awolow become President of Nigeria.

Even now we read that the Buhari crew are shopping for a "legacy" Southerner to replace Buhari. This is insultingly the reason they are flirting with Goodluck Jonathan, Fayemi, Umahi and other 'tools' from the South they assume will help them keep things 'business as usual.

It is not rocket science and not a negative against Tinubu that Buhari does now want him as his successor. Rather it is a scar against the North that the region produces more leaders like Buhari rather than Tinubu.

It is why the North is the way it is. Pathetic, poor, insecure and extremely backwards while hosting 87% of the poorest and most poverty-stricken people in Nigeria.


Like Ojukwu said "Obafemi Awolowo is the greatest President Nigeria never had". If Tinubu is not President then it is another big loss for Nigeria, and not Jagaban personally, unless we gain someone as good as Tinubu or better than him.

Igbos may hate him but sane and truthful Nigerians who are not bigots will admit that Nigeria would be very different today had Awolowo became President instead of Shehu Shagari who was another clueless and incompetent gradualist from the North.

Absolutely, and it is a big insult to the South that the Buhari camp are now said to be shopping for a "legacy" candidate from the South.

What legacy of this regime will this Southerner be protection? The current policy whereby the Fulanis are untouchable and do as they please across Nigeria while the police and army look away or even abet them?
