Was your upgrade to OS6 done officially or was it a forced install ?

Oh,Officially, through DM-OS6 is much better I can't lie but the fact that the browser closes down pages like 10 times a day due to insufficient memory is a pain in the ass. I would have gone ahead to attempt the bb boss operation but one of the requirememnts is that you must have the OS you want to shrink installed on ur computer. Considering that I just upgraded my bb directly to my fone through DM- I don't have my OS on my computer as I didn't need to download it.

Have you tried connect your phone through your computer and unto bb's server ?

Reasons as you have discovered of force close is due to your hardware configuration.

Hardware Config? Really? Pls enlighten me cos what I do know is Bold 2 has only 256MB memory and OS 6 alone takes up around 200MB leaving next to nothing to run operations on the fone. Dats why I want to shrink the OS to about 100MB. But I don't know anything bout hardware config
