Electronics as we may know it today are not just a piece of gadget but has become the heart and brain of every modern technology which can be as simple as automatic fan control to as complex as brain behind driverless car, AI robot e.t.c.

Which ever way it's being used, one thing is for sure! Behind every electronics there are few components to hundreds of components carefully arrange to work together.

*How to make these components interact with each other.
*Placement of each component to form a unique circuit
*PCB layout and design

Are responsibility of an electronic designer/engineer

Therefore, on this thread I'll like to focus on three major things I wish this thread will acheive:
1. Raising many electronics designers/engineers.
(NOTE: You don't need to be a guru or having strong background in elect/electronics before you become one)
2. Coming together of the engineers as a formidable team.
3. Start making complex electronics.

You might think making complex electronics is very difficult. For instance, the smart phone you're holding has over 100m of wires and 6-10 conductive copper layers whereas some military and medical equipment can have up to 50-100 conductive copper layers you can see it's not that easy truly shocked shocked but after I revealed the secret behind it, you will enjoy doing it over and over again and find it very easy to do which I called "Cracking into a complex electronics"

During the first phase of the aim of this thread which is raising many electronics designer/engineers, you'll gain the knowledge of electrical components and their functions(for newbies), what is datasheet? How to read and make use of datasheet, what is a schematic diagram? How can you crack into a schematic diagram? PCB design and layout e.t.c

I'll post some of my complex electronics desgin as this thread goes on.

Like I said, electronic design is very fascinating and interesting especially when you are a type who like doing electrical stuffs.

The images below are that of Arduino Mega, the complete components on the Arduino Mega can be found there.

How then can you come up with a design like this?

Well the electronics knowledge as we have it today has been made so open that you hardly search for anything and you won't get it.

Knowing how to desgin circuit isn't the most awesome thing about being electronics design engineer but giving you confident to identify any error in design and having proper understanding on how most complex IC works.

Now, what do you need to achieve this is the next question?

Like I said earlier, you don't need to be a guru before you can do it only to know the secret of it.

I will start with the newbies that is people who have zero background in electrical electronics.

As a newbies who has passion for electronics, you must be familiar with basic electrical terms and components which are things we come across in our day to day activities.

Terms like Voltage and Current shouldn't be strange to you, so circuit is just about how voltage and current are manipulated to achieve something.

How then does this manipulation achieve?

The answer is, simply through some components which their properties change as voltage and current are applied to them.

What are these basic components?

They are common things you come about everyday, which are:
1. Resistor
2. Capacitor
3. Inductor
4. Diode
5. Transistor
6. Transformer
7. Integrated Circuit (IC)*

I asterisk IC because it needs further discussion.

I'll simply summarize all these components this way: Voltage pushed, current flows, Resistor resists, Capacitor stores energy inform of voltage, Inductor induces, Diode acts as one-way valve & Transistor is an electronic switch.

Moving away from the basic into the real issue at hand which is circuit design.

Have you ever lay hold on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) before?

I believe we've all come across a PCB but looking at a PCB and understand everything on it might seem like a mystery because only what you see on top as meaningless wires running from one end to another either parallel, diagonal or vertical with tiny holes and bunch of components.

To have your own PCB design like the one you've laid hands on before requires understanding of components parts and the real thing you have in mind to design.

You mean I said "understanding of components parts" when I initially said "you don't need to be a guru" shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Don't be scared, understanding components parts is very easy as long as you can read and understand English.

In a nutshell, every PCB out there have their designated purpose that is it starts from idea.
