Good evening nairaland. So I am a budding entrepreneur who just graduated from the uni. I have a business idea I have been running since my undergraduate days who h was doing really fine. However during the covid I lost due to the restriction on movement.

Now the business is booming because of the increase in dollar rate imagine something you are making #150 per kg now making #350. So I tried securing a loan as no one will help but it's been futile. Also I had an opportunity for my sister who is a government worker to use her work details to help me secure a sizable loan that can get me back on my feet. The issue now my sister has refused to help me. I don't want to sound entitled and at the same time I am pained that she could potentially help me and turn my life around for good but she refused. I am thinking of talking to her again as I don't have any other option.

Or what other thing can you suggest or advice. I will sincerely appreciate it.

Don't blame your sister if she doesn't want to help you get a loan. A loan isn't what one takes lightly especially when it is on behalf of others.

You know what? Do it this way. People won't be ready to borrow you money or even loan you. They won't except... except they will be geting back something. So, tell people to invest in your business , do the calculations and give a good return on Investment over a period of time . Don't be greedy, remember it is for your business to grow. If normally you make a profit of 500naira and you got people to invest, making a personal profit of 300n while the investors get like a 100 naira each(2 investors) for 6 months. Here you are getting money to expand. Profits to will increase. Win win for you and investors

I hope you understand what I am trying to say . Already feeling sleepy . Just want to share that

I am talking about people investing in your business . You believe in the business right? I don't know how much you need .
For example: Your sister can invest 50k, and you could be paying her 5k monthly for 18 months .

Just tell your friends and family to invest.

.if I may ask , is the business a physical one?

You people will just come online and be lying anyhow!

See how you have just accused an innocent person of not wanting to help you meanwhile we all know that if she gets the loan for you using her details you will default and in the end kasala will burst on her head.

Your sister is very wise - borrowing money on behalf of another person is the most stupid mistake a person can make, especially in Nigeria!

Honestly there are just some things you just view and pass. You really don't have to make a comment. So everybody who make attempt to take a loan don't and won't pay back? Well, my prayers for you is you won't lose your job or your business. Let's just start this week with a positive energy. Cheers brother.
