In a State where State-enacted Islamic Laws are enforced on all the citizens (including the residents), both for Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, then it is high time the Human Rights Lawyers take up the challenge and sue the Kano State Authorities and Their So-called Hisbah Law to court, and then determine which of the two laws have supremacy over the other...
==>
Whether it is it the Human Rights Laws as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution, or the Hisbah Police Laws as Passed and enacted by the Kano State Government.

..
..
Dear Nigerians, we need to always tell ourselves the truth.. It will save us from Double-Standards and International Disgrace.

The Hisbah/Islamic laws are superior to the Nigeria Constitution.

Where it is infrindged, the CFRN is helpless and cannot work.

In the South, there is no law except the Federal Laws.

In the North, there is no law except the Shari'a law.

It's really funny. Infact it's funny up until toy start to think deeply.

That we already run a two state solution. But the resources of the South has been stolen by the people from the North.

That alone is enough for the declaration of War.

The constitution...

Tho Christians have systematically and foolishly handed the country over to Muslims while laughing sheepishly.

Now Muslim don gather mind and enjoying carelessness of Christians .. presently they’re calling for sharia law in the west while subtly promoting Muslim in southeast and south south.
... and Christians are mute ... “praying “ like that’s what will stop the jihadist.

It is really becoming outrageously abnormal.
It has reached a stage when people will begin to shout and cry for normalcy to return.

It's grossly insane.
They said that it is a State law, and not an Islamic Law.
..
But the tenets and the rudiments of the law has “ISLAM” written all over it.

According to them, Nigeria Constitution is man-made so Sharia is superior.
They should just have a separate country of their own to practise their Sharia in peace.

What kind of gross stupidity is this? How can a law of a state house of assembly supersede an Act of the National Assembly?

I have read both laws..
And I wonder why any State Government would implement its State Laws, in contravention to the Federal Laws.

Section 4 (5) If any Law enacted by the House of Assembly of a State is inconsistent with any law validly made by the National Assembly, the law made by the National Assembly shall prevail, and that other Law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void. The law is unambiguous, people have chosen not to exercise their rights, & prefer to wail & blame Fulani.

Nigeria is a state which means any other organization, state or whatever are subordinate to the lay down laws and constitution. And in a situation where they is conflict the Nigerian constitution superside.
The sharia law is now gaining grounds because the government in power is now granting such liberty.

FG does not have such powers, sharia is State Government jurisdiction, has anyone forced sharia or any other customary law on you against your will? The Nigerian Constitution States it quite clearly that Nigeria shall be a secular state. Take note that the word shall was used, not may, there can be no assumptions to the status of Nigeria.

It's either you've not been to the north, or you are a northener or just being oblivious of the goings-on in Nigeria.

Or to test the waters, just travel to the north and do any legit business. Have an issue (I don't pray for it) and report to the police for settlement or sue the fella. There you'll understand how this country operates.

Is there any possible remedy to this??
Or do we continue to complain and argue and quote some legal paragraphs here??

The Constitution is routinely violated because nobody challenges them in courts. Lets look at blasphemy laws for example. They're clearly illegal because they violated free expression but until it gets to the Supreme Court They're here to stay.

There is a remedy to it but for now there is a high level of suppression.

The remedy is dissolution of the entity so that each part practice that which is convenient for it. Anything less, is time buying.
