Zamfara State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew throughout the 14 local government areas in the state.

The government has also shut down schools, both private and public, operating in all the local governments in the state.

The measure came on the heels of bandits’ invasion of Kaya town in Maradun Local Area of the state on Wednesday morning, where a yet-to-be-ascertained number of pupils were abducted from the Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State where the governor, Bello Matawalle, hails from.

The school, according to an indigene of the area, Abu Kaya, shas about 300 students, a large number of whom were taken by the bandits who had arrived the school at about 11:00A.M on Wednesday when the school was in session.

According to TVC News, the curfew is from eight o’clock in the evening to seven o’clock in the morning

“The move, according to authorities, is to control the rising cases of banditry and kidnapping in the state,” says the broadcast medium.

Zamfara State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew throughout the 14 local government areas in the state.

The government has also shut down schools, both private and public, operating in all the local governments in the state. Has boko haram not won, schools forcefully shut? I heard this latest kidnapping happened in Governor's home town.

Matwalle has aligned with the center, why is the center not defending him. They keep on making polices that breed and fuel criminality. I pray forces from Taliban, Libya, Mali do not over run us in Nigeria. Only God can save us and if you think you are safe in the west look around you and see siege of foreigners around you in Lekki, Jakande, Ajah, Obalende, Egbeda, Ebute-Meta, Sango and so on.

How many states have now shut down their schools in the North...yet the stvpid govt has refused to brand these Bokoharam, as terr0rists. The senile old fo0l and his cabal of dimwits can threaten media houses with "red card", can also go after innocent agitators but can't do anything about the continuous kidnap of children. The only security our government know is Curfew, they can spend billions on weapons, but those weapons are just useless and audio, cause their best approach to insecurity is curfew.

The rate people are suffering in this country is too much, even when you're dead, you will still suffer cause even mortuary dor full.

Putting in curfew from 8pm to 7am for what.
For God sake, the bandits came in broad daylight, 11am prompt.

Provide adequate security. That's only what is required.

If that would help curb the incessant killing and kidnapping, it is a welcome decision.

While doing that, we should not forget to proffer solutions and give the necessary information to security agencies....

How I wish every governor in Nigeria can be as bold as governor ortom by now we should have know where we are heading on this security issue but no, most of them will rather choose to close schools and market places today and fly to Abuja tomorrow for a photograph with the mannequin.

I wonder if there is anything the governors of Katsina and zamfara think about other than how to rescue abducted school children almost on a weekly basis.
