Heading: Genesis of Mystery
:
On his way out of the male toilet, just at the door, Kelly heard her amorous laughter, her voice was intensively irresistible like a nude image of a marine goddess. He stood at the door with a hand on the knob, enjoying the very voice of the angel outside. It was like a pain relief to his body and worked like magic in stabilizing his blood pressure like Benazepril hydrochloride. The feelings he got from the voice flushed down from his head to his toes, hence triggering a smile on his face. He couldn’t wait anymore to have, at least, a glance at the face of the girl who had brainwashed him with her voice. Though he knew the owner of the voice, but seeing her face would be an addendum to the joy in his heart. So, quickly, he walked back into the toilet, carried a bucket to a diminutive window as an aid to his height. He climbed, like an amateur spy, he peeked with only an eye through the window to finally see the beautiful face of the beautiful voice. It was Erica, his biggest crush.

Sadly, that was all Kelly could always do: stealing a crushing glance at Erica coz he’s so timid and shy to stand before her thoughtless of confessing his love for her. He also thought the girl was too classic for someone like him. Hence, crushing on her was the best he could do. Nonetheless, as he was satisfying his emotions through the window, someone caughed from behind thereby startling him; he nearly fell down from the bucket. He said nothing but stared at the person after adjusting his eyeglasses. A school bag hung behind him just like a blue pen hung on the pocket of his white long-sleeve shirt which he tocked in-in a blue plain trouser. First, he analyzed the average woman who interrupted him: she looked unfamiliar with a mop and a bucket in her hand.

“I guess you’re the cleaner. Sorry, I guess I have to excuse you.” Kelly began to walk towards the door.

“Not all relationships are meant to be.” the woman’s voice interrupted him, yet he couldn’t resist Erica’s that was still coming from outside. Also, he couldn’t put a finger on what the woman was talking about, so he slowly turned to see her mopping the floor absentmindedly as if she never said anything. Astonished, Kelly asked her, “Did you just say something?”

“You heard me” the woman kept mopping.

class="stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter">
“Well, I’m not in a relationship with her, and I know it’s not meant to be as you said.”

Thewoman straightened up. “Who’s talking about you?” she asked.
“What then are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about who you are, not you in particular.”

Both stared at each other. Bemused, Kelly didn’t know what to think, just as his legs suddenly loss the appropriate weight to carry his body. Terrified, he hurried out of the toilet, contemplating how the woman knew who he was. “Who am I? Obviously, I’m Kelly Joe. That’s who I am. The woman must be bluffing.” He concluded within him, standing outside the door. He saw a male student entering into the toilet then said, “A cleaner is inside, I guess you have to wait for her to…”

“Whatthe hell are you talking about?” the boy interrupted him rudely. “Today is Monday, janitors don’t work on Mondays, freak!” he barged into the rest-room where Kelly utilized the juncture to peek inside but never saw the woman again. He became astonished! It could be seen oh his eye-balls that approximately bulge out through his eyeglasses.
Notwithstanding, his two hands enjoyed the comfort refuge of his two pockets just like, in the same demeanor, his footsteps on the tiled floor remained brisk as he was heading to the exterior part of the building, wondering who he had seen inside the toilet if not a janitor. Though group of students walked through the same passage with him but Kelly never noticed any of them to my greatest amusement because I, the writer knows that none of those students noticed him too. Kelly has always been unnoticed and hates drawing attention to himself, but Lucas, his best buddy, would always drag his legs to the village square.

Stepping outside, Kelly’s eyes once again behold Erica beside the school flag with her friends laughing and hilariously catwalking in a feminine demeanor that got her buttocks slightly shaking in a blue short skirt. She was always neat, eye-catching especially on her uniform. She’s ebony black that glitters with the divulging teeth in her mouth which Kelly enjoys to see mostly coz her smile alone is like a nourishing breakfast. At the sight of Erica, Kelly becomes not only vulnerable but also forgetful. Just like he had forgotten about the strange woman he saw in the rest-room as he stupidly stood there, admiring his dream love.

“KJ…” a voice called him from behind. By hearing of the acronym, Kelly articulated who that might be, so he never turned rather called his name, “Lucas.”

Lucaspatted his bag from behind. He had the same height with Kelly but more preferable by women to Kelly. “I’ve once again caught you staring at a woman’s cut-yard.” Lucas began. “It’s all the same thing, KJ. You just have to do the real thing. Touching it is the same as staring at it.”
Kelly glanced at him. “What are you talking about, Lucas? What is cut-yard anyway?” he asked still with his hands in his pockets.

“The groovy buttocks!”

“Why?”

“Coz it’s divided into two that’s why it’s called cut-yard. Even God knows you can’t handle both that’s why he cut it into two equal half for you to have one while I manage one.” he laughed to see Kelly smiling too, but continued. “My Bible tells me that looking at it is the same as when you touch it. Both are sin! So choice your sin wisely; which do you prefer, KJ?”

Kelly ignored him but traces of smile never departed from his face. He sighted Mr Martins, their form master, then hurried to him. The man’s steps is always very fast that whosoever walks with him must be on the run. That was the situation Kelly found himself, galloping beside him like a horse while the man comfortably walked.

“Sir, I need your attention. I’m worried about something.” Kelly requested in a hurry.

“I’m all yours, KJ” the man replied.

“You just need to slow down sir.”

“I’m a moving train, KJ. You can meet me at the bus-stop.”

Kelly stopped, breathing hastily as he watched the man entering into his office. Then he understood that he must had gotten to his bus-stop, so he met him inside the office.

“What’s it, Joe?” Mr Martins asked gesturing at the seat opposite him.

Kelly sat down sluggishly. “Sir, I met a janitor inside our rest-room. But I realized today is Monday. There’s no way any of them could be in school. So I was wondering if you in anyway invited any of them today.”

The man kept mute, laid back on his chair, crossed his legs and stared at the boy before him. His silence got Kelly worried the more coz he needed an answer to his inquisitiveness.

“Sir,” he called.

“You’ve not hit the nail on the head, Joe.” Mr Martins said. “Did the woman harrase you in anyway?”

“No,” Kelly responded surprisingly. “But how do you know it’s a woman, sir?” The young boy couldn’t help but to shake the fact that Mr Martins knows about his encounter with the strange woman. Just as the silence lingered, a knock came from the door. It cracked opened and Erica entered to Kelly’s greatest amazement. Quickly, he looked up at her but suddenly bent his head shyly.

“Erica, it better be important. What is it?” Mr Martins asked her. Just then, his cell phone rang, he picked it and walked out of the office as he spoke through it. Only Kelly and Erica remained inside the office, yet Kelly couldn’t look up again. He wished the ground opens and swallow him.

“Hey, KJ.” Erica whispered. “You’re with my cell phone. The location is on so I just tracked it to this place. May I see your bag?”

Before Kelly could say anything, she zipped the bag open, deep her hand inside it and brought out the phone. “You’re lucky I’m in a good mood today.” she disdained him and walked out of the office.

Kelly exhaled, knowing very well that it was Lucas’ handwork. He closed his bag, hung it once again to leave the office too. Unfortunately, he met Lucas, grinning outside, beside the door.

“Lucas, I know you did it.” he told him.

The boy approached him. “Did you touch?” he asked amusingly.

“Touch what?”

“Aaahhh..” Lucas groaned. “Must I explain myself again?”

Kelly sighted the cleaner, leaving the school compound. He could feel goosebumps on his skin as he stared at her. He tapped Lucas, pointing at the woman. “What could that janitor be doing in school today?”

Lucas stretched his neck. “What Janitor? Today is Monday, bro.” he said.

“You mean you can’t see her leaving the school?”

“I see nobody, bro. All I see are bunch of cut-yards.”

“Something is wrong somewhere.” Kelly murmured. He threw off his bag and began to run after the woman. Lucas picked his bag strangely wondering what had come over him. Kelly’s race, for the first time, drew attention to himself. Students who saw him running wondered why and wanted to see the outcome. Mr Martins, who was on call at a corner also watched the young boy running like an amateur.

“Hey, woman, wait!!” he shouted on his way. Unluckily, he stumbled and fell down, brushing his face on a green grass. Some students laughed while some showed concern. Kelly felt a hand on his shoulder, he looked up to see Lucas as the one. “Did you see her?” he was still asking.

“No, KJ. What’s going on?” Lucas asked with a serious tone.

Kelly stood up to see all eyes on him, he turned to see Mr Martins staring at him too. Lucas handed his eyeglasses to him, he cleaned it and wore it back boldly. His emotions changed. He fully understood that Mason High School has a mystery he had to solve…..

Episode 2

The shadow of Mason School van never faded on the road under the reflection of radiation which source was at the verge of disappearance. The Sunset from the West painted the city with an orange color, also reflecting on the windscreen of many vehicles especially the school van. From one of the window glasses, Kelly stared at the less intensive yellow sun as his head rested on the glass. His mind was occupied by what happened in school that day, he needed to think, then obviously gets answers to his predicament. Beside him inside the van was Lucas, who, for once, remained quiet also reflecting on his buddy’s attitude earlier at school. So he glanced at him.

“KJ, did you really see a janitor or the woman? You’ve been quiet after you ran like a mad man, shouting nobody’s name in the middle of the school environment. What’s going on?” he broke the silence.

Kelly neither responded nor detached his head from the window glass. Suddenly, the van stopped thereby bringing his attention to other students in the van. He observed some male and female students getting down from the van together like lovers.

“Why are our students so much entangled with one another?” he glanced at Lucas. “You know what I mean.”

“Why are you acting as if you’re just noticing now? Of course any of them you see must be in a relationsh…”

“Relationship.” Kelly interrupted him.

“Yeah, what’s up about that? Are you jealous coz you don’t have any girl to work on her venyard?” Lucas smiled at him. Just then the van stopped again.

Kelly stood up hastily. “I’m only worried about them, Lucas, coz something isn’t right in Mason.” he began to walk out. Lucas needed more substantiation so he ran after him. Before he could get down from the van, Kelly had entered into their house, yet, he went after him.

Kelly’s house is a portable bungalow, located by the road side. It has three stairs which Lucas ran through, pushed the first door open to see the living room void from humans. That was a clear evidence that Kelly’s father hadn’t come back from work. “Kelly, KJ!” he called his name, walking towards the door of his room. He knocked before gradually opening it to allowed the sound circulate the house. It was like the dead making his way into a quiet empty hall through a rusty door. It was thrilling and terrifying.

Finally,Lucas walked into the room, allowing the door to jam, making the same scary sound. The young boy was amazed to see Kelly, writing something hastily on a mini white board. He averted his eyes from him to other part of the room. It was nasty to his eyes, wondering why and what his buddy was writing on the small board.
“KJ, when did you become a teacher?” he broke the silence, yet the boy kept making sketches on the board. Therefore, Lucas had no choice but to sit at the edge of an opposite bed, watching silently until Kelly was done, adjusted away from the board. Lucas saw a drawn building tagged MHS and an arrow vertically drawn to a word: ‘Students’ and from students to ‘Relationship’.

Lucasexhaled. “I presume MHS means Mason High school. What point are your trying to make. Are you drawing your love pyramid?” he grinned.
“I know this will sound crazy but…” Kelly walked closer to him. “I think our school has a skeleton in her cardboard. Lucas, believe me when I say I saw the woman that turned me into a herbivore, making me eat from the school grass by falling me in the presence of all.” he changed position as he continued. “This woman caught me peeking at Erica from the toilet..”

“You did!?” Lucas chuckled. “I’ve told to walk up to that girl and get a hold of her cut-yard rather than peeking at it!”

Kelly exhaled exhaustively, adjusting his eyeglasses. He angrily grabbed Lucas shirt like a wife about to initiate a fight with her husband. “Be serious, Lucas!” he yelled. “Something is going on under your nose but you can’t see it!”

Lucas had never seen or heard Kelly in such a harsh tone. Therefore it got down to him that the boy was serious. But he silently looked at his hands on his shirt before Kelly released him and continued.

“The woman said something: that not all relationships are meant to be. Initially, I thought she was talking about my crush for Erica but surprisingly she said she was talking about who I am, not me in particular.”

“Why is the response confusing?”

“Good question” Kelly continued. “Terrified, I stepped out from the rest-room only to open it again to see the woman no more.” he paused for Lucas to assimilate and to feel the gravity of his last statement. Truly, the boy could relate. “I tried to bring up this to Mr Martins, but he figured out it was a woman even before I could tell him. What does that tell you?”

“Heknows the woman?”
“Bingo! But why was he pretending? If the woman was an illusion as you think why then would Mr Martins know her?”

Lucas began to shake his head. He stood up, still reasoning about the whole thing. He glanced at the board. “What’s your conclusion?”

Kelly briskly walked back to the board illustrating his writings. “This is MHS, and i believe the school mysteriously functions using the students.”

“Students are primary function of all schools.” Lucas spread his hands.

“Not this one” Kelly cycled the building image on the board. “The primary function of this one is the students’ relationship. I believe the students relationship has some diabolic connections with the foundation of the school and it could be dangerous.” he paused as both stared at each other. “I think that’s the message the woman tried to pass to me?” Kelly added.

Lucas exhaled. “I think I have to go now, KJ. You don’t make sense to me.” he carried his bag from the beg. Kelly disappointedly watched him surging towards the door. “Lucas…” he called him.

The boy tiredly turned.

“I witnessed another thing after I fell down today at school” Kelly began as Lucas listened from the door….

FLASH BACK
Kelly stood up to see all eyes on him, he turned to see Mr Martins staring at him too. Lucas handed his eyeglasses to him, he cleaned it and wore it back boldly. His emotions changed. He fully understood that Mason High School has a mystery he had to solve.

“You have to go clean up, KJ.” Lucas suggested with a low tone.

Kelly bought the advise, instead of heading to the rest-room., He walked to the back of the school which was a bit bushy and cranky with no students. Accidentally, he caught two students kissing and romancing each other. Quickly, he hid beside the wall of a building, watching the cut-yard of the female being grabbed like a loaf of bread thereby exposing her black underwear. To Kelly’s greatest surprise, he saw the school principal witnessing the erotic act from opposite end but the man quietly left unnoticed….
:
:
CONTINUITY
“In which school would a principal witness such act but remain quiet without punishing the victims?” Kelly concluded as Lucas stared at him.

“Who were the students? I guess it must be Olisa and..” Lucas found his voice.

“They were Victor and Olivia.” Kelly interrupted. “Something is wrong in that school, believe me.” he added.

“Maybe the principal will still bring it up. Bye, KJ.” he left.
:
:
Darkness finally covered the cloud, thunderstorms escalated in the city, hence heavy rain began to pour down. It was pass midnight when Kelly found himself up from the bed wearing only his pyjamas. Drawing closer to his window, he did not only see Erica under the rain but also squatting on the middle of the road, shedding tears. Suddenly, he found himself on the road with her.

“Erica?” he called.

The girl raised her head up with eyes full of tears.

“Why are you crying?” Kelly asked her.

“I’m so sad. Olisa broke up with me.” she replied. Instantly, a car hit her down in a way her head rolled off from her neck.

“Erica!!” Kelly exclaimed only to wake up from his bed. Though it was a dream but the rainfall was real. Drawing closer to his window again but in reality, he saw no one under the rain. What he did see with the help of a thunder lightening was a dairy. Boldly, he walked out from the house to the rain and picked it up. The dairy had a metal cover page, hence was water resistant.

Kelly’s hand did not only quiver inside his room when he was about to open the dairy, thunder also struck from the sky. The young boy open the center page of the dairy to see names of students in Mason High School.

“Oh my God!” He exclaimed loudly. His voice attracted a knock at his door…

Episode 3 & 4

Heading: Dead Confusion
:
:
No human wouldn’t be terrified by the weary night that was enhanced by the sound of a thunderstorm, generating an unbearable cold temperature and inflicting fear to the heart of any being. It was like God himself was speaking from heaven like He did to the people of Israel with thunder at Mount Sinai. The storm quivered Kelly’s roof like the pass-away of invisible creature. The quivering sound suddenly metamorphosed to the sound of a crawling animal inside the ceiling of the building thereby taking his attention away from the strange dairy in his hands. Swiftly, Kelly looked up at the ceiling as he stood in the middle of his room, wearing a pyjamas and ascertaining the promptness of the rain, the storm, the noises in the ceiling and, most of all, the dairy bearing names of his fellow students of Mason High School. It was like seeing himself on one of the horror movies he watches; scary and dreadful. To worsen the trepidation, electrical light went off immediately followed by another knock at his door. Kelly couldn’t bear the macrocosm of the locus anymore, so he dropped the diary on the floor and screamed ostentatiously!! Yet, the knock from the door changed into a bang and eventually broke open in the dark by a torchlight that manifested its power over darkness by illuminating the room. That was Sir Joe, Kelly’s father. He shone the light at his son who had covered his ears, squatting and screaming on the floor.

“Kelly!” the father pulled him up. Realizing who he was, Kelly tightly embraced him. The rain minimized along with the storm thereby returning electrical light in the room. Sir Joe quietly sat with his boy at the edge of a bed in a way they faced the window through which Kelly saw the dairy.

“Are you okay, son?” Sir Joe asked, looking at his son. “What happened?” he added.

Kelly’s mouth couldn’t open thoughtless of speaking. He stared at the floor where he dropped the dairy but couldn’t find it anymore. Strangely in addendum, he got the dairy from the rain, so he was suppose to be w€t which the father would have noticed, but his body became as dry as a frigid woman. Nevertheless, he used his eyes to search for dairy, but all to no avail. The father followed the directions of his eyes, awed by the gesture.

Kellyslightly looked at him. “It’s nothing, Dad. I was just frightened by the whole noise and… and.. rain, i mean thunder.” he stammered.

Sir Joe thought for a while coz he knew his son to be an introvert but never knew him as someone who could be frightened by the dead thoughtless of a mare rainfall and thunderstorm. He exhaled. “You’re bigger than this, Kelly.”

“I know. I’m sorry”

“Would you like to..”

“No, I wouldn’t” Kelly interrupted his father, knowing what he wanted to ask him. “I’ll sleep in my own room.” he concluded.

The father patted his back, stood up and surged towards the door where he suddenly turned and asked with much concern tone, “Before now, I thought I heard the front door. Did you go out to the rain?”

“No,no, that must be wind.” Kelly replied, observing how his father watched him from the door. He was beginning to believe, may be, the father had the proficiency of what eventuated that night.
“Good night, son.” He smiled and left the room. Instantly, the dairy made itself visible again on the floor. Slowly, Kelly picked it up, sat back at the bed and opened the book. The first ten pages were filled with names of students he knows and some he didn’t know but what he understood was that all of them are senior students of Mason High School from 1 to 3. Each line of the book contains only two names; a boy and a girl. Kelly read a few line thus:

Victor and Olivia
Jerry and Cynthia
James and Nginika
Olisa and Erica
Lucas and Innocentia..

Kelly looked up from the dairy, thinking critically. “These names are accordance with students who are in a relationship in Mason.” he soliloquized. Quickly, he opened several pages in search of his name but couldn’t see it. That satisfied the correctness of his soliloquy. Something strange happened again; when he came back to the first names he read, the name, ‘Cynthia’ disappeared.

“What could this mean? I don’t even know who Cynthia is or her class?” He thought.

Throughout the night, Kelly didn’t get some sleep, having many things on his mind. His dream about Erica keeps flashing in his head like an unstable headlight of a motorcycle. Suddenly, he diviated to the name ‘Cynthia’. “Why am I the only one experiencing this? What am I to do with this dairy? Whose own is it? Who was the strange woman?” the poor boy kept asking himself these questions till the next morning.
:
:
The sun rose from the east and shone at Mason High school where all students had assembled before the national flag, looking very neat. Blue and white uniform saturated the environment, even the paint used on the buildings has the same color. At the entrance of the school, beside the main road are horizontally que of cashew trees. One could see vehicles speeding along the road too. The building of the school was magnificent to behold just like her students.

Nevertheless, students stood according to their classes. Lucas was always found behind Kelly on the same line. None of the students uttered a word after the recitation of the national anthem. They were all waiting for the principal, Mr. Obuchi. As the quietness lingered, the students began to hear the chirping of morning birds from one of the cashew tress. Suddenly, they sighted the principal coming from his office with some teachers. Lucas whispered to Kelly saying, “You see? I told you the principal must talk about what you said he saw yesterday. You were damn wrong about your hilarious analysis about him and the school yesterday. He will fish out Victor and Olivia right now.”
Kelly said nothing, rather monitored the principal until he stood before all the students and began to address them.

“…SS3 students, I’ve received an information that you’ll be going for a field trip soon. Pay for it and the management will handle the rest. You’ve been of good conduct. Study your books and thank you all.” the man walked out.

Kelly had to turn to Lucas to remind him of his words.

“The man didn’t talk about it!” Lucas surprisingly said. “How can he not when he saw such an act where one person enjoyed a full cut-yard alone.”

Kelly said nothing.

“I still don’t believe your analysis anyways.” Lucas concluded.

“Do you know who Cynthia Usman is?” Kelly asked him as they were dispersing to their various classes.

“No, why?” Lucas asked. He suddenly stopped and said holding Kelly on the shoulders. “Wait, have you finally fallen in love? Wow, congratulations!”

Kelly ignored him. He sighted Jerry then called on him. Both met the boy standing alone in front of his classroom then exchanged pleasantries. Jerry was only in SS2.

“Where is Cynthia?” Kelly asked the boy to Lucas’ amazement.

At first, Jerry hesitated with a chuckle. “Any problem? And why are you asking me?” he throw back the question.

“KJ, you’ve never ask of any girl before. Why this Cynthia of a girl?” Lucas also queried.

Just then, the cretching sound of a car’s tyres escalated from the main road, followed by the sound of broken glasses. Students attention went there including Kelly and co. who looked at each other before running out to the main road like other students to witness the accident victim. Surprisingly, it was Cynthia. They saw her lying dead on the road in the pool of her won blood. Seeing that, Kelly’s breathing rate accelerated as tears began to circulate his eyes.

“Cynthia!” Jerry pushed through the crowd to the dead girl crying bitterly while Kelly had sat under a tree, vomiting with tears. He couldn’t explain the meaning or cause of what happened. Before he could raised his head up, Jerry grabbed him on his shirt shouting, “What did you do to her? You killed her!!”

“What?!” Lucas approached likwise other students and teachers. “Get your hands off him!” he retaliated for his buddy who was speechless, allowing Jerry to drag him vigorously.

“He never knew who Cynthia was. Today that he asked about her is the day of her death. Kelly knows what killed her!!” Jerry elaborated to the hearing of Mr Martins thereby causing more confusion…..

Heading: Kelly and the Moon
:
:
The flow of her blood on the road was like a liquid fire from a ruptured volcano finding it’s way through the mountains. Though she was dead but her eyes were widely opened and her white long-sleeve uniform was stained by her own blood. Her blue skirt had torn and her posture inappropriately exposed her underwear. Cynthia’s death was a tip of an iceberg to what awaits the students of Mason High school. Some students clustered beside the road while some watched Jerry’s drama with Kelly under the tree.

“What did you do, Kelly!” Jerry never left his shirt. Other students joined hands to castigate the boy like the agitation of the Romans for Jesus to be crucified. Teachers left their various offices including the principal to witness the element of the pandemonium. Jerry began to drag Kelly towards the centre of the school, resisting Lucas’ effort to retaliate while the crowd followed them.

“What’s going on!?” Mr Martins’ voice scared many away.

Poor Kelly couldn’t control his tears in the midst of the crowd coz at the best of his knowledge he couldn’t ascertain what was going on. But he suddenly found himself punching Jerry away from him and eventually kicking him down on the floor. The crowd adjusted back in a way they formed a circle. Before Jerry could stand on his feet, Kelly had rushed him on the floor, giving him more blows. Lucas couldn’t believe it! He wondered where his buddy got such a strength from. Jerry had eaten enough blows before Kelly stood up from him.

“Do you really wanna know why she died?!” He began angrily at the centre of the crowd. His voice shut everyone up and opened their ears thereby bringing silence among them. “If you want to know what killed Cynthia, ask the school management! I saw her, she told me not all relationships are meant to be. Mr Martins’ knows who she is and the principal is hiding this secret from all of us!” he paused, breathing hastily

“What secret?” The principal stepped in. Tention arose among the students when they saw that the situation had exceeded a cock and bull fairy tale.

Kellyturned to him unabashedly. “Tell me the school doesn’t have a skeleton in her cardboard that you’re not away of. Yesterday, you pretended as if you never behold immorality that should attract severe punishment rather you swept it under the carpet to cover you’re secret!”
“Kelly, have you gone insane?!” Mr Martins stepped into the circle standing beside the principal who looked very confused.
“You too” Kelly turned to the man. “You’re also pretending. How the hell did you know that it was a woman I saw yesterday who suddenly disappeared to the tin air?”

“What are you talking about?” Mr. Martins glanced at the principal in order to know if he was witnessing the whole thing. Of course he was but was as confuse as he was.

“You don’t know what I’m talking about!” Kelly’s voice trailed. “This is what I’m talking about.” he rushed to his bag that rested on Lucas’ shoulder, pulled it out, opened it and brought out the dairy in the presence of everyone. “This is what I’m talking about!” He raised it up. “It has the names of all the students who are in a….”

“Whatare you showing us?” The principal interrupted him.
“This dairy?” Kelly raised it down surprisingly.

“What dairy?” Mr. Martins added.

Kelly looked at the dairy in his hand and back to the two teachers. He extended his gaze to the students who clustered around, murmuring at his behavior. The boy took a step to the principal and said with a low tone, “Are you saying you can’t see this dairy?”

“I’m seeing nothing but your fingers” the principal began. “And point of correction, I wasn’t in school yesterday. I was at a conference meeting with official of ministry of education, so what is this immorality you said i behold when i seated beside my colleague, Dr. David in a meeting?”

“Kelly, you told me you saw a janitor and all our janitors are females that’s why I used the word ‘woman’?” Mr. Martins substantiated.

The soliloquy increased among the students, distance siren of an ambulance coming to carry Cynthia’s corpse paved in the air. However, Kelly had started shedding more tears looking at the dairy in his hand. He suddenly looked up at the men, “Seriously, you can’t see this?” he asked for the second time.

“Okay, I’ve heard enough. Take him to my office and call his parents.” The principal ordered, walking out to observe Cynthia’s situation. Instantly, Mr. Martins grabbed Kelly by the hand like a police officer holding a criminal.

“Let me go! I’m not insane. I know what I’m talking about!” he struggled in his hands thereby fligging away the dairy. Successfully, he detached from him then took on his heels towards the main road as some students pursued him. Running across the road, a car hit him down. That’s was the second accident happening that morning which of course, wasn’t ordinary. Lucas wanted to run to his buddy but felt a hand holding him back. He turned to see Innocentia, an epitome of black beauty, calmed and meek.

class="stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter">
“You have to let Kelly be, Lucas. He’s not himself.” she said in calmed voice that could melt a stone-heart.

“But..”

“No but. I don’t think it’s safe being around him now.” she interrupted him.

Lucas sighed. They watched as Kelly was put inside an ambulance that speed off immediately with alarted siren. Lucas’ heart became heavy while his mind had also been occupied my so many thought. Intelligently, Innocentia noticed it and pulled him closer to herself saying, “Don’t worry, we can visit him in the hospital later.”

Lucas remained speechless.
:
:
Kelly went into transition, he saw himself staring at the moon which only shone on his face alone while every other place remained dark. His hands also remained behind him while his face directed up to the sky. No single sound from the environment to his eardrums. Suddenly, a female voice came beside him saying, “You draw too much attention to yourself.”

Kelly turned to see the same strange woman. “You again?” he said surprisingly. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m only in your mind and this might be the last time you’ll see me.” she replied also staring at the moon.

Kelly joined her. “People think I’m crazy. But I know what I’m seeing”

“I don’t think you’re crazy, KJ. I believe in you. Don’t blame yourself, Cynthia’s death isn’t your fault even if you had the opportunity to save her.”

Kelly looked at her. “How?” he asked.

“The love enhancer.”

“I don’t understand.”

The woman also brought down her head. “The dairy is meant for you to save your friends lives and in turn enhances your love. Though you won’t understand now but you will. Get prepared the battle has not begun.”

“Why did Cynthia die?” Kelly asked.

“She died because of the same reason her name appeared on the dairy.” she concluded..

REALITY
Kelly opened his eyes to see himself lying on a sick bed in a hospital. His head hurts just like his body. Surprisingly, he saw Lucas and Innocentia seated beside him on the bed. He struggled up in a way his buttocks really felt the spring of the bed.

“How are you feeling, KJ?” Lucas smiled at him. “Your dad just left.”

“KJ, we’re happy you’re awake.” Innocentia added.

“Thanks” Kelly looked beside him to see the dairy. He picked it up, opened it to see Innocentia’s name gone like Cynthia’s which is to say she will die like her. He sadly looked up.

“KJ, what is it?” Lucas asked him.

“Nothing” he smiled in order not to draw attention as the woman said. Staring at the innocent girl whose life span had been shortened, he suddenly felt sorry for her. He acted normal like nothing happened until they left. Quickly, he took a pen, opened a blank space of the dairy and wrote, “Innocentia.” Immediately, he found himself in the future, at the point where Innocentia will die and how: It was a crowdy train station, people walked around without seeing him. Just then, Kelly sighted Innocentia at a corner. He also saw an armed man after another man. People began to run. The man pulled the trigger, unfortunately the bullet killed Innocentia. Horribly, same moment, he saw a man staring at him a few meters away.

“Kelly!” The man called on him.

“You can see me?” Kelly took a few steps closer.

“This event must happen. She must die otherwise you go down with her!” The man warned him.

“Who are you? Why are you killing them!?” Kelly boldly asked. He looked at Innocentia’s corpse. Before he could turne, he didn’t see the man again…

PRESENT
Kelly opend his eyes to see himself still in the hospital bed. “I traveled to the future?” he murmured amazingly, remembering the man he saw there. His statement also reminded him of the woman’s statement: “Get prepared the battle has not yet begun.” Coming out from the thought, Innocentia entered in a hurry. Kelly stared at her.

“Sorry, Lucas forgot his phone. I came to pick it.” The girl told him with a smile as she picked the phone, heading back to the door.

“Innocentia..” Kelly called him.

The girl turned.

“Please, be careful.” he told her.

The girl smiled again then left the ward…

Heading: Root of Mason Mystery
:
Kelly lowered his feet from the hospital bed, situated at the third floor of the storey building. He wore a light-green hospital vest too that seems feminine to him. The ward was medically sophisticated: a heart monitor and a defibrillator could be seen behind the bed while a television broadcasted opposite the bed on a wall.

Finally, his feet felt the cool temperature of the tiled floor, trying to move them to the window of the ward which curtains also had the same light-green color of his medical vest. After a step, he groaned painfully, holding his rips. Regardless of the sluggish locomotion, he finally made it to the window where he saw Lucas leaving with Innocentia. He also saw several cars parked neatly in front of the hospital. Surprisingly, he saw his father shaking hands with a man whose stomach could be equate to a pregnant woman’s. His father waited for the man to enter into his car until both dispersed. Just as Kelly filled his eyes with other beauty of the environment, his father entered through the door.

“Hey, son. You’re awake!” he closed the door behind him.

Kelly turned from the window without saying a word. Once again, he slowly sat back at the edge of the bed while his father inquisitively stared at him.

The boy glanced at him and swallowed hard. “I know the look, dad. I know I’ve strangely fvcked up again. But I don’t think I’ll be able to answer any of your questions.”

“But your action today is similar to the one last night.” Sir Joe curiously sat beside him. “Tell me what’s going on, son. If you don’t talk to me, who would you talk to? You nearly dragged your school to the dust today!”

“Dad!” Kelly used same tone. “All I can say is that I don’t know what came over me.” Like a good child, he lowered his voice. “I promise it will never repeat itself.”

“Anyways, I’m glad you’re fine.” The father rubbed his back. I’ll see the doctor to know if you’re good to go.” he stood up. Just at the door, Kelly called on him saying, “Who was the pregnant man?”

Bemused, the father spread his hands. “Who?”
“I saw you through the window.”

“Oh, you mean Mason?”

“As far as I’m concern he’s pregnant.” Both began to smile. “Wait,” Kelly cut it off. “You mean Mason like ‘Mason High School?'” he widened his eyes.

“Yes,he’s the founder and he happens to be my childhood friend. He said he will see you at school when you’re up and kicking.”
“Oh… I see.” Kelly began to node his head. “I’m sorry for letting you and your friend down, dad.”

The father smiled. Briskly, he left the room.
:
:
A large teddy bear seated on his bed like a human being in charge of the room and also it’s owner. Beside it were two pillows as large as the bear doll. Kelly, who stood opposite the doll wished it develops active ears and mouth so that he could communicate with it. Though he never hesitated to talk to the doll regardless its inactivity.

“Teddy, first, I’m gonna be meeting with Mason at school today for God knows why?” He paused, putting on his shirt. “Sorry, I should have known it’s still about the same reason why I tried to drag his school name to the dust.”
Kelly began to buckle his shit in a hurry. “I guess it’s time to be bold not timid. Don’t you think so, Teddy?” He began to tock in his shirt. “Thank you for your response, Teddy, coz for me to save these people, I really need to go closer to them to actually discover the time of their death after seeing it in the future.. wait… oh… yes, I know even Erica. Yes, I know, she might not want my closeness or friendship but I will never let anything happen to her.”

Kelly sat on the edge of the bed in a way he backed the doll then began to put on his shoes. “Yes, Teddy, I know that getting closer to these girls… I don’t know why only girls are the one meeting their doom like Cynthia. Don’t know why they are the only victim. I wish I know.” He stood up and grabbed his bag. “So as I was saying, getting closer to these girls with the motive to save their lives might actually enhance some kind of likeness for me. I guess that’s why the woman called it ‘Love Enhancer'”

He began to walk towards the door, opened it but came back into the room sadly, staring at the Teddy bear. “I really love Erica but I wouldn’t want to win her heart using love enhancer… I know, I know, Olisa is already in the picture. Bye.” he banged the door.

Steppingout from the house, Kelly saw his school van which stopped before him to enter. Seeing population of students through the window van and their murmuring voice, he began to feel intimidated again coz he knew that he was their topic of discussion. He wondered what people would call him for acting weird days ago. Just as he contemplated, he saw Innocentia running towards the van.
“Wait!” She shouted. “Thank God I’ve met up with you guys coz I missed the van initially.” she came closer to Kelly, “What are you waiting for, KJ, let’s go inside.” she told him.

“I was actually waiting for you.” he found his voice.

“Wow, I’m flattered!” Innocentia held his hand, taking a step into the van with him. For the first time, Kelly felt a bit confident but it began to dwindle when he saw some students calling him a wizard and saying all kinds of bad words about him. With his eyes, he searched for Lucas his savior but couldn’t find him. Oh, what a pity? Who would save him from that embarrassment? Worst, Innocentia left him standing in the middle of the van and took a seat.

“Here comes the wizard!” Olisa said from the back seat. He dramatically stood up like a hero. “Or should we call him Eze nmuo? The chief priest of Mason High!”

Students laughed.

“No” Jerry stood up behind Kelly. “He is a killer! A murderer!” he pushed Kelly from behind in a way he stumbled on Erica who in turn pushed him away again.

“Please, don’t get close to me!” she warned.

“Hey, KJ, come sit with me.” Innocentia whispered to him. Shamefully, he sat beside the girl. “Don’t listen to them.” She encouraged him.

Kelly glanced at her. “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention. In as much as Lucas believes in you, I do too. Therefore, to us, you’re none of those names they call you.” she added again. Kelly filled a bit relieved. It could be seen on his smiling face.

Mason High school returned to it’s morning activities. Though as the students were on the assembly ground, so were Kelly and Mason himself inside the principal’s office. He was able to closely look at the man’s big stomach and wondered if it was filled with organs or just water or may be, a baby was on the way coming. Hilarious.

The seat in which Kelly exerted his weight suddenly began to get hot for him, seeing almighty Mason turning his back on him after explaining his predicament. The hotness of the seat was no difference from that of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’. He swallowed hard, feeling unease on the seat when the silence lingered between them.

“Sir…” he broke the silence, yet he couldn’t hear his own voice due to tension and unwanted imagination.

“Joe,” Mason turned to him. “I wanna tell you a story.” he began. “When I was at your age I was in a relationship. I impregnated my girlfriend, Alice. We shared our dreams together. That’s when I told her my ambition of owning a school. On our final grade, I impregnated her but denied it because my parents swore to disown me…” He exhaled. “To cut the story short, Alice couldn’t bear the pain and heartbreak, so she took her own life, leaving a note for me.” Mason sat down, placing his two hands on the table as Kelly listened.

“The note reads and I quote.” he continued. “Mason, your ambition will die as our relationship.” he paused.

Smartly, Kelly asked, “Why are you telling me this story?”

“Because it’s all about you”

“How?”

Mason stood up and turned his back on him again. “I showed my traditional priestess that note and she said it must surely come to pass but she did some sacrifices and said to me, “There will come a dairy, whosoever possesses it might end it but it won’t be easy for him or her. After a year, she died”” Mason turned to Kelly. “From your drama, Joe, you’re the one possessing the dairy.” he concluded.

“And I have to suffer for your own sin!” Kelly raised his voice.

“I’m sorry to indirectly involve you but you need to do this and keep it secret until it’s done. You can’t tell anyone. Not even your father coz I kept it from him since our teenagehood.”

Kelly stood up. “Now I know why Cynthia died and why Innocentia is the next to meet her doom. It’s not only because they’re in a relationship, but because they have also have s£x just like you and Alice did. Now I also know why only the females are affected.”

“You really need to do this for me, Joe.The story is just the root of the mystery” Mason pleaded.

“What if I can’t do it coz I don’t know how yet! What if I die in the process!” Kelly began to breath hastily…

However, on the assembly ground, students were making noises waiting for Mason to come and address them as the founder of the school, unexpectedly, Kelly was the one walking to them which greatly ended the noise as all watched him until he stood before all the students. Mason came out that time to stand behind him.

Kelly’s eyes caught with Erica’s before Lucas’. “Good morning my fellow students” he began like the president of United State. “I, Kelly Joe, apologize for my improper behavior which some of you tagged as witchcraft. I really don’t know what came over me. I pledge it will never happen again. I’m sorry especially to Jerry for combatting with you. I’m sorry Erica..” he paused and his eyes caught with hers again. “I’m sorry Erica for stumbling on you inside the school van and I’m sorry Olisa for.. for.. for nothing.” he swallowed hard and left the place…

“Let the drama begins” Kelly whispered on his way out…

Heading: Go Down
:
:
She crossed her legs on a public cemented seat found under one of the trees of Mason High School. On her attractive thighs rested a chemistry textbook as she fixt her head down on it to solve a problem. One could see her long hair dangling around her face which she occasionally slid away. The look on her face signified how difficult the problem was, so she needed no distractions but solution. Unfortunately, she noticed someone standing very close to her. She exhaled, dropping her pen and rasing her head up saying, “Olisa, you would have been more helpful if you were a science stu….” she paused because what she saw inside a pot of soup wasn’t soup actually.

Lucas, the very person smiled amusingly. “Sorry, Erica, there’s no way I can be Olisa. God forbid!”

“I should have known it was you, Lucas.” Erica disdained. “Moreover, you should count yourself lucky for me to mistakingly address you as Olisa coz he’s far better than you in all ramification. Furthermore, I’ll always prefer 1 Olisa to 10 of you.”

Lucas cleared his throat and sat beside her. The girl adjusted away like one observing social distancing, but Lucas stretched his neck to see the chemistry problem she was battling with, instantly he detected her mistake then giggled and began to whistle mockingly. Erica partially closed the book and looked at him. “What?” she asked enthusiastically.

“If Olisa is better than me in all ramification, why did you wish he was a science student to tell you that the molecular mass of a non volatile solute can be determined by first, measuring the lower vapour pressure which is (P – Ps) produced by dissolving weight of the solvent.”

Erica glanced at the book after swiftly opening it. “Of course I know that already.” she retaliated.

“Yes, you know!” Lucas nodded his head mockingly and sounding like a boss. “What you and your so called Olisa don’t know is that the value of the number of moles of solute mathimatically changes from ‘n’ to ‘w/m’ likewise the number of moles of solvent. You were still solving using the value ‘n’ alone. You see?”

Erica glanced at her book to see that he was correct. Therefore she became disappointed.
Lucas mockingly smiled. “Now you concur that 1 Lucas is more preferable to 10 Olisa and 20 Erica which equals 30 empty heads that do not know what 1 Lucas knows.”

At that juncture, Erica was not only disappointed but also embarrassed. Notwithstanding, she said, “Whatever!”. She wanted to leave the place but what she saw drew her ass back on the seat. Lucas traced her eyes to see Kelly heading towards a Rang Rover that was leaving the school compound but stopped at the entrance. Though some teachers were driving out while some students hung around at different places, chatting and playing especially the junior students who kept swinging on a swing at a basketball court. Nevertheless, the two students finally saw Kelly entering into the car like the car owner. Of course Lucas and Erica knew that it was Mason, the owner of the school.
“What

is Kelly doing with my father?” Erica broke the silence that lingered between her and the boy. “First, he came out from the principal office with him this morning when he apologized for his witchcraft. It’s obvious he was with my father because of that but what’s he doing with him again inside his own car?”
“Wait!” Lucas curiously turned to her with eyes wide opened like a tilapia fish . “Mason is your father? but I thought your last is…”

“Anefiok is my great grandfather’s name. Like is a generational name we use as last name” Erica interrupted him. “Why am I even explaining to you.”

“Wow!” Lucas couldn’t believe it. “Erica Mason High School!”

“Keep it low, young man, It’s Erica Anefiok. Not so many people know about that.” Erica gazed at Kelly sitting comfortably in front of her father’s red Range Rover….
:
:
Yes, comfortably, Kelly felt the car air conditioner, also inhaling the tantalizing smell the interior car hoise out. He once again witnessed the big stomach of the man well bulge out by the help of the car seatbelt. Through the windscreen he monitored moving vehicles on the main road and remembering Cynthia who died at the same spot.

“My son” Mason began. “I still want to remind you the gravity of our secrets.”

“Your secret alone” Kelly interfered.

“Fine, I want to ask how you’ll go about it coz no more person needs to die otherwise my school will be closed down or becomes deserted because parents will start withdrawing their children. How are you going to make this mission possible?”

“It’s simple sir, I’ll just turn into a man of God and tell students to abstain from relationships which leads to immorality because I’ve come to an understanding that until those who are in a relationship, s£xually come together that the female meets her doom.” Kelly explained.

“There

must be something else you can do to save them other than preaching.”

Kelly remained quiet.

“Another thing, I want to know if my daughter Erica is on the dairy list.” Mason requested to see Kelly surprisingly looking at him. “What?” he asked.

“Erica is your daughter?” Kelly said. “Like she doesn’t bear your name.”

“Not everybody bears their father’s name as their surnames.”

“Tell your daughter to stay away from immorality. That’s all I can say. May I go, sir?”

The man exhaled. “At the end of this I must reward you handsomely. I promise you.” He concluded before Kelly left the car. He saw Lucas calling him from the tree. With two hands inside his pockets, he walked to the place, standing before Erica and Lucas.

“What exactly do you have with my father.” Erica charged.

“Oh, sorry, I never knew it was your father.” Kelly retaliated boldly while Lucas watched both of them wondering what would come out of it. Erica stood up making Lucas to also stand like a reffery of a wrestling match.

“What do you mean by you’re sorry?” Erica was still inquisitive.

“Because you sounded as if its an offense to have something with your father?” Kelly retorted.

“Well, sooner or later I must figure out what charm you want to use on my father.” She hissed, wanting to walk out but Kelly held her back by the hand and said without knowing that Olisa had seen them from a classroom. “I’m sorry, Erica.”

The girl flung her hand away and left, shaking her butt in the process. Lucas laughed boastfully.

“Guy, I love the way you stood up to that girl. I love it. Very soon, her cut-yard gonna be ours” he said but Kelly looked at him in a way to say: FOR YOU AND WHO? Lucas understood and giggled. “Okay, the cut-yard gonna be yours alone. But come to think of it, what were you doing with Mason again?”

Kelly didn’t answer. Of course he must not let the cat out of the bag. It was a secret he needed to keep from everyone including his father and the daughter of Mason, the lion himself. So he changed the topic as he sat down at the position Erica was sitting. He looked up at Lucas from there saying, “How did you do it?”

“Do what?” Lucas wondered, getting his ass on the seat too.

“I mean you and Innocentia.”

“Oh, you mean how I won her heart? Simple, your buddy is a handsome dude so literally she fell for it. You just have to be as handsome as ….”

“Lucas!” Kelly interrupted him. “I mean how did you get her to bed. Don’t be surprise and don’t ask me how I know.” He paused to see Lucas wallowing in a confusing thought. “She really loves you. I hope you keep her to the end. Most especially, make sure you take up your responsibility if she gets pregnant unless you used protection.” Kelly stood up and left, leaving his friend speechless.
:
:
A few minutes left for school to be over, all SS3 students both art and science gathered inside a hall where Mr Martins was already standing waiting for them to settle down. One could see a fat cane in one of his hands and a rumpled paper in another hand. When he felt that he had given them enough time, he began with a loud voice, “We’ve started preparing for your sentforth party and you’ve been grouped according to what you gonna be performing on that day: some dancing, drama exhibition, debating, etc.. so if you hear your name, you’ll as well hear where you belong.” The man began to call names and the students kept shouting at their various groups which they were fixed. “…and Lucas, Olivia, Erica, Victor and Kelly are on the drama group.” Mr Martins concluded.

Students shouted. Kelly looked around for Innocentia but didn’t see her coz there was no sign of her inside the hall especially when her name was mention on a dancing group. Quickly, he located Lucas in the crowd and asked, “Where is Innocentia?”

“Guy, let me be. You have a lot of questions to answer.” Lucas ignored his question.

“”Just tell me where Innocentia is.”

“She has gone to pick her grandmother from the train station. Why are you asking anyways?” He stared up into his eyes from his seat.

“Nothing much” Kelly shrugged. “Aah, I was thinking I can switch group with her. I rather dance than to be with Erica on the drama group.” he scratched his head.

“You know that’s impossible.”

“Really? I have to go… go out… I mean, you can go home without me.” He left the hall while Lucas stared at him untill he went out of sight.

Like a hare, he ran along the road without minding how he was hit down by a vehicle the last time he got on his heels. He boarded the next available cab to the train station where he saw a crowd of passengers. He began to trace Innocentia’s position according to the way he saw it from the dairy. As he briskly searched, the words of the strange man kept ringing like a bell in his head: “”This event must happen. She must die otherwise you go down with her!” Remembering that, his heart accelerated because, one, he didn’t know what would happen to him after saving the poor girl. Two, he didn’t know how he would save her without her knowing who did coz he needed to keep his identify for this unexpected mission as secret as the dairy. Notwithstanding, he surged forward. He finally saw Innocentia from afar, standing close to the railway. He also saw an armed man after another man. People began to run. Before the armed man could pulled the trigger, Kelly had rushed Innocentia from behind, pushed her down in a way she covered her face on the floor. The next sound that quivered the station was that of the gunshots which bullets hit the metal railway exactly where Innocentia was standing. Innocentia stood up to discover that she would have been dead if the unknown person didn’t save her because Kelly had long gone before she stood up. To her, it was a miracle and will not hesitate to broadcast it.
:
:
The sun had begun to set when Erica walked up to her father who was reading a news paper in the living room. She wore a bumshort and a crop top. Even the lining of her underwear could be easily noticed. She sat beside him as the only child she was. “Dad, I wanna ask you.”

The father didn’t look at her but waited for her to proceed.

“What were you doing with the mad boy?” she asked.

The father closed the papar and looked at her. “Mad boy?” he twisted his face.

“I mean the one that have been behaving strangely at school?”

“Oh, KJ, his father is my teenagehood friend.” He opened the paper again.

“Is that what you both discussed inside the car?” Erica was still inquisitive.

“Yes, I gave him something to give to his father.” Mason replied without looking at the daughter.

“I hate him!” She lamented. Just then, the mother of the house entered….
:
:
On the other hand, Kelly was talking to his teddy bear again. He stood at the window in a way he turned his back on it. “I guess Innocentia must be wondering who saved her. I really thank God I did. Don’t you think so teddy?” He paused. “The man said I would go down with her. I think I know the type of down he was talking about coz I really went down with her” he chuckled at his own words.

“He knows what he meant, he’s still coming to take you down.” The teddy spoke out unbelievably. Kelly swiftly turned from the window looking at the bear…

Heading: Twist of Prophecy
:

“He knew what he meant, he’s still coming to take you down.”

No fewer than two seconds the female voice sounded inside the lonely room thereby drawing Kelly’s attention from the window to know who made the statement, horribly, he saw no one but a teddy bear on his bed. He didn’t want to believe that the Teddy had developed active mouth as he wished earlier that day. No, it’s impossible. So he left the window quietly, yet a cranky noise from his feet didn’t let him concentrate in order to ascertain what was strangely happening inside his room. He opened his door and said, “Hello, Dad, are you back?”

There was no response, this increased the young boy’s perturbation, curiosity and enthusiasm to really comprehend the exact spot the statement was made from. Tirelessly, he returned to the bed where the teddy sat oppsode him, staring at his eyes as if it could see with them. Even Kelly was beginning to believe that those eyes had become active, so he waved his hands across the Teddy’s face. “Hello, Teddy?” he said yet no response. He exhaled and turned his back on it with hands placed on his waist like an exhausted athlete. “I guess I’m hallucinating.” he murmured. The voice sounded from behind for the second time. Swiftly, he turned like one being pitched on the buttocks, ready to wrestle with an invisible being. He forwardly positioned his hands, widened his legs to firmly grab the texture of the floor like a kungfu student about to fight his master. A hopeless fight that can’t be won.

“Who said that?!” he asked unabashedly.

“Though it might have been of her power to re-prophesy but she wasn’t opportuned to witness the twist of prophesy. I must follow you to the beginning of the end. I must witness the journey of the paramours to the house of Elves. I am Eleli,”

Now, Kelly discovered the source of the voice which was directly coming from the teddy bear regardless the fact that its mouth remained static. Bemused, he sluggishly disfigured his fighting posture without knowing what to say coz he couldn’t believe his eyes and ears respectively. Though that wasn’t the first strange thing he had witnessed after getting hold of the dairy, which, of course, didn’t cause for alarm or trigger fright in his heart. So he calmly asked, “Eleli, from where?”

Pizarena.com

“Calm down KJ, I’m on your side. Your unlimited questions have limited answers which I can help you with in my own capacity. I thought the name house of Elves would have given you a glimpse of who I am.”
“Well, it doesn’t ring a bell.”

“Really, you must be living under the rock without internet access or at least, library.”

“Hey, get the hell out of my teddy!” Kelly waved his hands periodically in the air. “I don’t wanna know who you are again or the so called house of Elves.” He began to walk out but suddenly turned, “By the way, what do you mean by your first statement which is he’s still coming to take me down?”

“How can I tell you the meaning when you don’t want to know who I am and why or even tell you about house of Elves, or, at least, tell you about my second statement which are the twist of prophecy, beginning of the end, journey of the paramours, etc..”
“I don’t want to know about them! I already have a lot in my head about how to save my friends. I don’t wanna add more to it. If you don’t want to tell me about the first statement, fine!” He lowered his voice when making the next utterance and also heading towards the door. “After all, I already know what it means; going down simply means I’m gonna die.” He clutched the door knob.

Eleli also lowered her voice through the teddy. “What if I tell you that it isn’t what it means?” Kelly turned dramatically as Eleli continued. “If you can’t comprehend the meaning of some simple statements, you’d leave me no choice but to doubt your competency of the secret dairy in your possession. Oh.. gush.. how…”

Kelly became offended by her words, so he left the door back to her angrily. “What else can be the meaning of going down with someone in such a situation I found myself at the train station if not dying with the person?” he interrupted.

“You must as well say that walking down the aisle with someone also means dying with the person.”

“Well you called it ‘walking down!”

“What’s the difference between ‘walking down’ and ‘going down’? Are both not talking about movement which is motion?”

Kelly bent his head down to assimilate the comparison which he found meaningful but tried at the same time to get the actual meaning of the first statement through Eleli’s comparison. He raised his head up, shook it haphazardly as if to reset his brain cells. However, Eleli had been quiet, waiting to know if he could come up with the actual meaning. Just as she anticipated, Kelly spoke up saying, “Literally, when one goes down, he becomes static, hence he wouldn’t move which is opposite of motion. That gives us the meaning of the first statement which is he’s coming to pinned me down at a place so that I won’t be able to save my friends.”

“Terrific!”

Eleli exclaimed. “You’ve cleared my doubt. The time of pinning you down will satisfactorily signify the fulfilment of the dairy, hence the selection of the paramours for the journey to the house of Elves.”
“I don’t get it. Who are the paramours?!”

“I thought you said you don’t want to hear about the substantiation of my second statement.”

“Well, I want to hear it now. Does it mean that I’m not doing what I’m doing beacuse of Mason’s irresponsibility rather for this journey you talk about? Eh?”

Eleli went silent.

“Talk to me! Why me!? Who are the paramours and what is their mission?!” Kelly yelled, grabbing the teddy from the bed in a way he stared into its eyes like a mad man. He squized the doll to inflict pain only to realize that it was not an organism to show irritability. He flung the teddy on the floor and began to breath heavily. Obviously, he was confused and exhausted, making him to sluggishly sat on the edge of the bed with two hands placed on his foreheads.
:
:
Kelly left to school the next day without hearing from Eleli. The young boy thought he had gotten all the answers he needed without knowing that the end of his Inquisition was the beginning of his nightmare. Nevertheless, he stood inside an empty hall with his drama mates except Victor whom they were all waiting for to join them in order to rehearse with Miss Alagia, their literature teacher. One could see Kelly standing at a corner with Lucas. The two boys held a window protector with their hands while they discussed silently.

However, Olivia and Erica could be found at another corner of the hall, chatting with one hundred percent feminine gesture and charisma. Kelly occasionally glanced at them.

Lucas cleared his throat. “Talking about your statement yesterday…”

“I told you not to ask me how I know.” Kelly interrupted him.

“That’s not possible, you need to tell me! I know Innocentia cannot disclose such thing to you. So, I’m really optimistic to know how you came about with your theory.” Lucas persisted.

Kelly glanced at Erica before looking at his buddy. “It’s not a theory, Lucas. It’s a fact!”

“Well, facts don’t just fall down from the sky.”

“Exactly, it first pass through observation, hypothesis, experiment…”

Lucas widened his eyes, taking off his hand from the protector. “So you’ve been monitoring me!” he yelled in a away his voice reflected on the walls of the hall thereby producing an echo. The two girls glanced at them from their own corner.

“Yes, but scientifically.” Kelly smiled at his own words.

“Lies, you monitored me spiritually.” Lucas looked around and lowered his voice. “Well, it was really cool. It happens two months ago. I really enjoyed her cut-yard, you know. Mehn she’s the sweetest thing you will ever tasted. Don’t misunderstand me, I love her…”

“Wait.” Kelly also disengaged his hand from the window protector. “Did you just say two months ago?”

“Yeah, my place. My parents weren’t around. Do you have a problem with that?” Lucas gazed at him intensively.

Kelly didn’t reply. He obnoxiously began to think. “If the s£xual act occurred this long, how come the curse is manifesting now? How am I even sure that Alice’s curse to Mason is the thing manifesting now regarding Eleli’s own story about House of Elves which she has refused to elaborate. Anyways, if the s£x had happened this long, that’s to say, probably, other names on the dairy had s£xually committed, just remaining for the females to meet their dooms.”

Miss Alagia’s presence into the hall interrupted his thought and everybody. She is a young single lady, flashy and eye-catching. She wore a black skirt, and a white shirt which she tocked in. She was dark in complexion. “Where is Victor?” she asked.

“Lucas turned to Olivia. “Go get your half, young girls before I kick your cut-yard. No, I’m not gonna kick it rather share it with my friend coz there’s love in sharing!”

Olivia disdained him.

“Let me go get him.” Kelly volunteered.

He met Victor inside his classroom reading a book. The boy looked serious as his mouth soliloquized the contents of the book. Kelly preferred not to distract him immediately rather stood beside him to know what had really taken Victor’s attention. He caughed. “What are you reading, Victor?” He asked him.

The boy exhaled and looked up. “It’s about the Elves. Very interesting!” he replied.

Kelly became amazed. “Elves like house of Elves?” he queried curiously.

Victor stood up. “Yes! How do you know? It’s titled ‘Prophecy’ It’s about the restoration of a princess’ life by the paramours who must journey to the house of Elves to get the ornament of her life restoration. Believe me, house of Elves is equivalent to hell.” He began to walk out with Kelly as he continued. “This is my second time of reading this book.”

“How did it end then?” Kelly was still inquisitive..

Victor stopped and looked at him. “That’s the problem. That’s where the suspense is coz it ended at the prophecy which is to say that the princess is still waiting for her hero to come save her and eventually marries her. It’s a fiction but it looks so real!” he began to walk again.

Though it might be a fiction to Victor but had become a reality to Kelly….

Kelly didn’t wait for school to dismissed. He rushed home, opened his room and banged the door behind him, breathing hastily. He looked at teddy on the bed. “You just have to talk to me now coz I have a glimpse of your second statement.”

Eleli chuckled. “The paramours are you and the next girl whom you’ll be pinned not to move to go save her. If at the end of saving the lives of these girls on the dairy and you don’t ‘go down’ for a particular girl, the dairy will leave you.”

“That means Mason’s priestess was wrong.” Kelly wanted to know.

“No, though it might have been of her power to re-prophesy but wasn’t opportuned to witness the twist of prophecy. Mason is just lucky that Alice’s curse twisted with the prophecy.”

“But why me?”

“”Who’s talking about you?” she asked.

“What then are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about who you are, not you in particular.” Eleli said the same words the strange woman said to Kelly the first day. The boy became obnoxiously devastated…..

Episode 11

A FEW HOURS EARLIER

The tale by the book, ‘Prophecy’ was something only few knew about. Many like Victor who had been freakingly enthusiastic about it wished it has a continuation or just take up a character on the book. Therefore he couldn’t close his mouth about it as he was walking with Kelly to the hall for the drama rehearsal. They had the same height but different movement. Victor seemed to have a little bow-leg unlike Kelly who’s movement was as straight as a finishing line. Many students of Mason High School at the moment were busy especially the SS3 students who could be identified at different locations rehearsing for their sentforth.

“How did the book end?” Kelly interrupted Victor.

Victor stopped and looked at him. “That’s the problem. That’s where the suspense is coz it ended at the prophecy which is to say that the princess is still waiting for her hero to come save her and eventually marries her. It’s a fiction but it looks so real!” he began to walk again followed by Kelly.

Though it might be a fiction to Victor but had become a reality to Kelly. “Does the name Eleli appear on the book?” Kelly was still inquisitive.

Victor stopped walking for the second time, gazing at Kelly suspiciously. He tapped his chest with a finger wanting to say something but suddenly shook his head with an obnoxious smile.

“What’s the problem, Victor?” Kelly asked him.

“”My father who gave me this book said, it’s rare, only five percent of people in the world may have acces to it. First, you discovered that it’s not just the Elves but house of Elves, and now you’re asking me about Eleli the queen mother of the immortals, the prophetess of the prophecy?”

“Are you saying Eleli is the one who made the prophe…”

“Don’t try to cut me off, KJ!” Victor tapped his chest with his fingers again severally. His expression sent Kelly a serious signal for him to comprehend the boy’s inconclusive hypothesis. Victor flipped the pages of the book to the last page then continued with the fingers now pointing at words from the book. “Yes, Eleli made the prophecy that says, “Only the possessor of the secrete dairy will bring about the paramours that will journey to the house of Elves for the life ornament that will restore the princess’ life.” He closed the book in a way that it made a terrifying sound while his eyes glued on Kelly’s who waited patiently for him to arrive at a conclusion. “And you, Kelly Joe is the possessor of the dairy regarding your drama the day Cynthia died. You are the continuation of this story!” Victor finally concluded.

Kelly laughed. “You’re kidding right? You just told me that the story is a fictional one, so how come I’m the continuation? Moreover, what I displayed on the day of Cynthia’s death is still something I can’t explain. It was just my age-wife/">village people trying to use me.”
“Lies! You brought out something from your bag and said it was a dairy that contains all our names!”

“Did you see the dairy?”
Victor became mute. Just then, Lucas’ voice came from the entrance of the hall, yelling, “You both should quit talking and come over here!”

Just like he said, the two boys walked to the hall where miss Alagia handed each of them a script while they watched her narrates the drama-line. Her phonetics worth emulating and listening to coz she was a professional and fluent on it. The five students enjoyed all parts of it as she kept narrating like a feminist before a congrigation. He walked tro and fro, demonstrating with a hand and glancing at a paper in another hand as she kept talking while the students listened attentively. The sound of her heel shoes which, at an interval, echoed inside the hall reminding people like Lucas that she was still a fresh young classic lady.

“Lucas, you’re performing the character, Otengwu, a drunkard who wants Kelly which is Dimgba to marry the princess due to his generosity towards you by buying you a bottle of beer each time he sees you. But Prince of Owalla, which is Victor wants to marry the princess already. Oh, the princess becomes confuse and needed advise from Ada, her closest friend which is Olivia..”

“Who then is my princess?” Victor asked.

“Apparently, it’s Erica.” Miss Alagia replied.

“How would the drama end?” Kelly asked again.

“Exactly the way it’s on the script.” Alagia folded her paper. “I may not have all the time to monitor or rehearse with you guys, so I want you to dialogue and come up with how you gonna rehearse by yourselves. On Friday, you’ll show me how far and good you’ve become. Thank you.” she catwalked out of the hall, taking Lucas attention until Olivia called on him saying, “Quit staring at your teacher, Lucas!”

The boy startled at her voice while other smiled except Erica.

“She’s so beautiful! I wish I can just walk down the aisle with her.” Lucas confessed and turned to Victor. “Have you imagined yourself getting control of a beautiful, intelligent, smart, tall lady with a koi-koi shoe whose cut-yard would be yours and yours alone. Aaaww!” He glanced at the door through which miss Alagia passed.

Kelly hit him on the head. “Focus!” he had said.

The students gathered around to dialogue as their teacher said. Kelly’s hands never left his pockets as his eyes occasionally and continuously caught with Erica’s.

“We have no time at school to rehearse” Victor began. “Unless after school time coz many of us have one or two things doing during break. So I suggest we do it at someone’s house!”

“Wow! Home rehearsal! That will be great!” Lucas yelled. “Let’s choose my house, no, sorry, not my house coz.. coz… I don’t know but definitely not my house. Let’s use KJ’s residence.” he pointed at his buddy.

“No, please coz.. coz.. my house is strange. It can be a nightmare to you guys.”

Everyone stared at him quietly including Erica as if he had himself w€t with his own urine. The young boy comprehended then brought out a hand from his pocket to elaborate further saying, “No, no, it’s not what you think, it’s not as if I have a skeleton in my courboard or anything. My house is just unfit for us.”

“My house then.” Erica interfered. “Our compound is large. 4p.m to 6p.m from today to Friday. Agreed?” she suggested too.

“Fine” they all responded.

Mason High School students assembled for an announcement after a bell was rung for dismissal. They all answered the call of bell in front of the principal’s office. The color of the uniform saturated the arena like a bacteria colony. Of course they knew that something must had caused the urgent gathering before they would be allowed to go home. Just as they murmured, a girl climbed on the higher pavement to vocally express herself which, of course was why they were summoned.

“Hello, my fellow students!” she began. Lucas looked up from the crowd to see Innocentia as the girl. Gradually, the noise among the students died down after hearing her voice. Teachers could be seen monitoring from aside. Innocentia continued. “This is in form of announcement and appreciation. It’s already all over the news how i would have been dead yesterday at the train station without the intervention of someone who saved my life. It’s a pity i didn’t get to see who that person was but those who saw him said he was on our uniform.” He paused and swallowed hard when a soliloquy wanted to arise. “I just want to thank the person if he or she is here. Also, I’ll be more happy if the person identifies him or herself now.”

The murmuring arose fully while the poor girl waited to know if anyone would identify himself. Just then, Lucas remembered Kelly asking him about Innocentia’s way about that day which he disclosed to him. As he was contemplating, the students were dismissed by Mr Martins after nobody identifies. Swiftly, Lucas met Innocentia saying, “I have a feeling that Kelly is the one who saved you.”

“Why?” The girl asked.

“That day, he curiously wanted to know where you went to. After I told him, he left immediately.” Lucas explained while they gazed at each other. Distant chattering of students and vehicles filled their ears but their minds were filled with different things. The girl adjusted her bag.

“If actually it’s him that’s to say Kelly knew I was going to be shot. He knew the accident would happen.” She analyzed.

“If what you’re saying is true, then Kelly has some questions to answer.” Lucas concluded.

“Where is he by the way?”

“He left before time.” Lucas replied.

PRESENT
Kelly didn’t wait for school to dismissed. He rushed home, opened his room and banged the door behind him, breathing hastily. He looked at the teddy on the bed. “You just have to talk to me now coz I have a glimpse of your second statement and also who you are.”

Mason is just lucky that Alice’s curse twisted with the prophecy. Hence, you have two missions to accomplish. The first one gives birth to the second and the second cannot be accomplished without your second. I mean the other paramour whom you’re emotionally attached with.”

“Who is this second person you talk about?” Kelly asked.

“The dairy will decide.”

“But why me?”

“”Who’s talking about you?” Eleli’s voice pitched.

“What then are you talking about?” Kelly was still inquisitive.

“I’m talking about who you are, not you in particular.” Eleli said the same words the strange woman said to Kelly the first day. The boy became obnoxiously devastated. He sat down on the edge of the bed, once again turning his back on the teddy bear. He glanced at his wrist watch. Quietly, he stood up to a table-drawer where he opens and brought out the dairy. He pened it to see a few names that had disappeared. He wrote them back on a fresh page only to to see himself in the future monitoring how these girls will all die: He saw Olivia on a farmland with an old man which he presumed to be her grandfather. There was a strong wind, a storm that fell down a palm tree on the land. Unfortunately, it landed on Olivia’s body as the girl was trying to leave the farmland with her grandfather.

Kelly came back to the present. “If that was Olivia’s village, does it mean I’ll travel to her village to save her? How can I save her without her knowing and asking questions why I left the city to her village?” the boy kept thinking. He turned to the teddy. “Eleli, I believe there’s nothing wrong with people knowing about my mission.” he asked.

“There’s everything wrong if people should know. Your own life will be at risk if people get to know coz it will be a catalyst for the Elves to know your existence then come for you. They wouldn’t know your existence if you keep it a secret until the day you make your journey to them. It’s better to go to them than them coming to you.” She replied.

On the other hands, Victor had started making inquiries about the author of the ‘Prophecy’. He began to dig for the truth and to eventually know Kelly’s secret…..

FLASH BACK
As teenage lovers, they soared through a thick forest with their hands glued together. The irritating sound of dried grasses filled their ears without minding its texture under their n@ked feet. Though the weather showed an unfavorable sign regardless the darkness that unwittingly subdued the rays of sunlight thus, generating gentle breeze that dangled the hair of the female teenager. She wore a white gown like a bride at a wedding ceremony. The gown was so lengthy, hence difficult to let her move her feet on the run through the forest, therefore she supported it with a hand. Behind her was a male teenager who’s hand she never let go, leading him on the run. The boy looked less royal unlike the girl whose soft hand he never let go too. He wore a local garment also supporting it with a hand in order to move his feet. Suddenly, he fell down. The girl turned to him saying with a glowing smile.

“Don’t be weak, Kenji. We’re already there.” she stretched her hand for him to grab in order to help him stand on his feet again.

“This is quit an adventure, my princess. Moreover, I’m a mortal human being unlike you. So, young girl, give me some break.” he finally grabbed her hand.

The princess smiled. “Immortals also get tired.” she said.

“Then get tired already coz I am!” Kenji, began to dust off his garment while the girl walked out from the grasses only to discover she was standing on top of a cliff where she struggled to be at that time. She felt like she was on top of the world judging from her charming smile as a result of her sight to the wonderful environment. She could see a distant building that was not only made by rocks but also attached to a mountain. Its entrance had two burning fire from two sticks that illuminated the arena. She extended her sight to witness more of such light. Amazingly, at another corner, there was a waterfall from rocks which was an addendum to the beauty of the place. She looked back.

“Kenji! Kenji! KJ!” she whispered. “Come here, come see.” she added.
The boy walked up to her to behold that which he was summoned for, that which he fell down for and that which he got weak for. It was a beautiful sight to him. “So that is the almighty house of Elves.” he said.

“Yes,” the princess replied, gazing at him with a smile.
“My princess, thank you so much for bringing me here. I wish we can go inside.” he looked at her unsatisfactorily. “You know, to tour and see what lies inside the house.”

“It’s the secred house of Elves. You’ll find nothing but your doom. To the best of my knowledge, every mortals who entered there never came out alive. They all was taken by Demu, the gods of the Elves.”

“Really? Why only the mortals?”

“Coz immortals like us can’t enter at all. The house of Elves is our weakness and also our death.”

“Well, i might break the record, you know.”
They giggled, staring at each other romantically. The wind suddenly began to blow the princess’ hair backwards as they observed the romantic tranquility. Their sympathetic nervous system activated; Like magnet of different poles, their hearts attracted to each other, increasing its beating rate and blood pressure. The princess’ oestrogen rushed down to her s£xual organ likewise Kanji’s testosterone. Their subsequent behaviour would be as a result of their body chemistry which had gotten to the peak for them to explode and explore it. So gradually, they began to bring their heads closer to each other for a soft kiss as a result of the butterflies that had woken up in their stomachs.

“Princess, your father…” Kenji found his voice thereby breaking not only the silence but the emotional atmosphere too.

“Ssshh” she placed a finger across his lips. “My name is Dii-dii. You can call me that. My father won’t do anything to you”

One again, both remained quiet, gradually bringing their heads together until they felt the soft texture of their lips. Just then, an arrow hit Kenji from behind. Princess Dii-dii widely opened her eyes surprisingly as Kenji slowly moved away from her. Dii-dii saw blood rushing out from the same lips she kiss.

“KJ?” she called with tears from her eyes. Just before she realized what was happening, another arrow hit down Kenji from the cliff. “KJ!! Kenji!!” She shouted, wanting to jump down too but a group of guards caught her and carried her. “Leave me alone! Why did you kill him!!” she kept flinging her legs as they were carrying her back through the forest. Unexpectedly, the guards who were on red attire met another group of warriors with swords. Those were the Elves…

CONTINUITY
“Those were the Elves who were also at enemity with the immortals.” Old Faith Osikotie, the author of the ‘Prophecy’ continued inside a dark room in front of a young boy. She was very old approximately over a hundred years old of age. The gray hair on her head had become scantly seperatable. She aids her movement with a third leg; a walking stick that was way taller than her. “The Elves are neither humans nor immortals. They were mostly giants. They fought with the guards, took the princess away which brought war with the Elves and the immortals.”

“But why was Kenji killed my the royal guards?” The boy asked.
“The king didn’t want her immortal daughter to entangle with a mare mortal.” The woman located an old chair where she sat down. “About the war, though the immortals won by recovering the princess from the Elves but she didn’t come back to the palace alive because she was given a poison from the house of Elves which only an ornament from the same house can restore the princess’ life again. Now, they immortals can’t enter into the house of Elves and no mortal human being was ready to go there. That’s why Eleli, the prophetess of the immortals prophesied about the paramours who will journey to the house of Elves to get it. If any of them succeeds in restoring the princess’ life he or she will become immortal too and the male will marry the princess.”

“How did you get the inspiration of this book you wrote? Don’t you think is real?” The boy was still inquisitive.

“I was told the same story when I was a child. Though it might look real but we all believe that ‘Prophecy’ is a fiction.” the old woman suspected something and looked at the boy. “Why are you asking me all this, little boy?” she asked.

“That’s because I think the story is not a fiction. I know the possessor of the dairy. It’s me.”

The old woman stood up with the help of her stick. “Are you for real?” she asked.

“Yes,”

“Can I see it?”

“It’s invisible.”

“Oh, I should have known. For me to see it, I must touch your body while you’re in the future.”

“Really?” The boy stood up. “I have to go now.” he left in a hurry.
:
:
Kelly spaced out through the glass of a taxi, watching buildings seemed as if they were in motion. His mind had been occupied by things he didn’t know and things he was yet to know. Truly, he was in the state of a chicken standing with a leg on a strange land trying to be familiar withit the environment before bringing down the remaining leg.

The taxi stopped at a junction where he came down and located a black gate on a street. He knocked on the gate through which he was allowed inside the compound by the gate-man. That was Mason’s residence. He looked up at the magnificent structure.

“Hey, you’re late for the rehearsal!” Lucas’ voice came from a corner. Kelly turned to him to see Olivia too.

“Where is Victor?” Erica’s voice came from the building’s seat-out from where she was approaching wearing a bumshot. Once again, Kelly stared at her. Her beauty was obviously irresistible. The young boy didn’t know when he began to smile at her which Erica didn’t find funny, so she added, “Why are you smiling like an idiot?”

Kelly realized himself and bent his head.

“Hey, I won’t have you call my buddy an idiot” Lucas retaliated. “Though if he is then know that he’s only blinded by what he feels for you which is idiocy love. I believe I’m making sense here.” he spread his hands.

“What of Victor?” Erica asked again.

Lucas turned to Olivia. “Your boyfriend is always the one absent. Call him on the phone!” he yelled.
:
:
However, Victor had traveled hours to the residence of Faith Osikotie. He walked into the compound to see an ambulance in front of the house. He also saw some people sadly murmuring at a corner. Just as he was going to meet one of them, he saw a corpse being taking to the ambulance.

“Hey, who are you looking for?” A young woman asked him.

“Uhm… I’m looking for the author, Faith Osikotie.” Victor replied.

“She just died and she’s the one the ambulance is taking away. I’m her daughter. Any problem?” the woman asked.

“No, no problem. I just wanted to ask her some questions about her book ‘Prophecy'”

“Are you not the one that came the other day? I thought she told you all you needed to know.”

Victor shook his head. “You must be mistaking me with someone. What’s the person’s name?”

“I can’t remember but he’s your age. He claimed to be the possessor of the dairy according to my mother.” the woman concluded. Victor’s mind went to no other person by Kelly.
:
:
He arrived at Erica’s compound late. He met them rounding off without his presence. When he pushed the gate of the building opened, they all stared at him. His movement was like that of a soldier heading to war. He pointed fingers at Kelly saying angrily, “You lied to me, KJ! You went to Faith Osikotie because I was right about you! You’re the possessor of the secret diary, hence making you the continuation of the book. It’s real after all!”

“Victor, what are you talking about?” Kelly asked him calmly.

“Are you denying that you haven’t gone to make yourself known to the woman?”

“Which woman?”

“The author of ‘Prophecy'”

“No, why would I do that?” Kelly spread his hands sincerely. “Victor, truly, I don’t know what you’re talking about” he added.

The boy averted his eyes from Kelly as his head was pounding, wrecking and critically thinking about the whole thing. “If you weren’t the one who met the woman, who else did? That’s to say someone is after you and the dairy. You need to tell us the truth, KJ. Who are you?” Victor asked.

Lucas approached too. ” KJ, what’s going on. Innocentia said someone in our uniform saved her at the train station, and you and I are the only one who knew she was there. Are you not the one that saved her?”

Tention creeped in among them. All this while, Erica and Olivia had been listening and looking at them, even Mason himself heard all they said from a window up stairs. However, Kelly had gone speechless without knowing what to say because he felt that he didn’t even know who he was since people had started investigating about him without his knowledge. To increase his paturbation, Erica broke the silence from his back saying, “Okay, what is really going on here?”

Hearing her voice, Kelly turned to her in a way both gazed at each other…..
