The Story Of My Mentees Who Made Millions From Snail Business W/O Own Snail Farm by akinsmail51: 10:14am On Sep 05, 2021
Around May 2019, 3 people approached me for training on snail farming.

Being a folk from my neighborhood, one an old friend, the other two graduated from my alma mater, I subsidized the training for them to the cheapest fee I have ever charged.

Although a teacher friend who introduced them to me suggested I did it free of charge, I refused and told him point-blank that I value my time and I understand that people hardly appreciate the free offer.

I think I asked them to pay ₦2,500 each for 3 - 5 days of intensive physical practical training on snail farming, then I guarantee them they will make quadruplets of whatever they invested in the training within the first week of implementing my strategies.

Without much ado, the training commenced. I shared with them a table of contents contains 10 Modules, the workshop was fully practical from beginning to the end.

We agreed on the time of meeting for discussion, their attitude to the lessons on the first day was very fantastic, fantabulous and eventually won my heart to reveal the working strategies with them.

They were introduced to the A - Z basics and business of snail farming. They could see the pen, how it's constructed, they could see snails in their natural habitat, how they are fed, various species of snails, how I package snails for my clients, how mulching is done.

It's the great practical training session I have ever had, we had to go out together searching for plantain leaves to mulch my snails, we worked together on a plot-size farm where I planted vegetables and fruits for my snails.

During our training session, one of them was talking to himself. He's querying himself why he hadn't known this business since, why this? Why that? He didn't know when he mentioned he would resign his then salaried job and he did!

On the 3rd day, we're at the snail marketing module then. As a marketing professional, this area seems to be the simplest task for me while I know others find it so difficult.

Thus, I am always very strict in discussing this section of the training as the success of the whole training lies here!

The module is divided into two, first parts discussing the theoretical aspects such as :

✅Defining the target audience
✅Strategies to acquire customers
✅Designing marketing tools such as business cards, brochures, flyers, proposals, sales copies & letters, etc.
✅Pricing & procurement strategies
✅Promotional strategies
✅Social media marketing, to mention a few among other things discussed.

I have summarized this in my ebook titled EXPOSED: SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL SNAIL BUSINESS. How You Can Make Millions From Snail Business Without Owning a Snail Farm.

Go get yours, if you have not got it yet.

The second part is the practical session, we all have to go out and scout for customers.

I told them the current market prices and reduced ₦100 on each snail for them as their profit margin to encourage them before they start procurement themselves.

Sure, I told them which territory to cover and warn them not to waste time approaching my existing customers.

We all went out with our snail samples handy, that very day, one of the duos met and won a customer who buys 100 snails on a weekly or monthly basis. The rich man eats only snail meat.

Surprisingly, my trainee did the supply that very day, I love his hardworking spirit and I made a vow to support him always, up till now, I still render him support though he owns his own company now.

The second trainee was fortunate to have a notable kitchen as his first customer and one white man doctor. This kitchen serves only dignitaries and governors. 70 - 100 jumbo snails order on weekly basis.

That's the beginning of their success stories in the snail business.

With consistent and persistent efforts, within the first six months of doing snail business, both got their companies registered[ Nettle Farms & Adekam Farms ], carried out deals in millions, and eventually bought their cars before the 12 months of doing the business.

Their accomplishments also impacted me positively as I also strived to increase my customer base, that same year I won a deal to supply snails that worth ₦3m in a single transaction.

Are they still doing the snail business? Yes. Recently, one of them signed a deal worth millions of Naira.

They are growing in leaps and doing fine. We're now business partners, as I navigate to agribusiness, we grow together there.

Bottom line: efforts pay, persistence is the key, action will always beat inaction.

PS: I don't have much time on training as I spent with them again due to other commitments. In fact, in the last online group training I did I charged each participant ₦20,000.

PSS: I have summarized the strategies in my new ebook, you can go and get yours now. Once the buyers reach 50, I will organize a headstart discussion for the first 50.

It remains just a few slots, less than 15 copies now.
