Please, what's the essence of the pipe pinned to the floor of the pit?

We needed to floor the pit, however water won't allow us due to the area. We had to use 2 pumping machine to drain the water while we do the floor until it dries. The two pipes is where the machine are drying the water through. Without that, the flooring won't be successful.

I personally do not have any specific reason but my brother advised not to do normal flooring.
Also the horticulturist i brought also advised to use interlocking. He talked about the nature of the area and subsequent maintenance.

I think weed will be minimal due to the presence of underlay nylon.

The bricklayers are in Badagry here. Would it be more economical for you to bring them from afar?

Congratulations on the progress of your house sir.

Please could you tell me what this type of iron rod could be used in building project? The rod is not long but very heavy.

I have over 50 pieces of it and the owner says I can take it.
Is it useless or I should keep it?

I'll allow professionals to comment on this because I don't think we use any iron rod of this length.

At the time i moved in in December, i have spent 14M+. I just finished installing interlocking and it costs approximately 1.4M

Also i just finished my gate which costs 450k.

I finished fencing this year (excluding the security wire).

In all it should be around 17M.

For the roof, I bought;
500 pieces of 2by4 (hardwood)
400 pieces of 2by3 (hardwood)
24 pieces of 2by6 (hardwood)
nails

The wood, nails and transport cost about 700,000 Naira.

The carpenter collected 90,000 Naira.

I bought 380sqm gerard shingles at the rate of 3,250 per sqm.

Ridges and gutter, 145,000 Naira.

Transport of gerard to the site 35,000 Naira.

Covering of the house 70,000 Naira.

These are the major ones.
Hello bro , just came across your thread
I just finished with the parapet and I think you’re right about being at the site with the workers. The parapet guy quoted 45 bags of cements and 45 cutter rods. Believe me, I bought 45 bags and he only used 25 bags for every thing.. I saved 20 bags already. I bought just 30 length of rods and it’ was enough .

That being said, I’m about to do the roofing and I also want to use stone coated shingles like yours.

My carpenter quotation is beyond my power. He justified it with original woods are expensive .

I want u to do me a favor.

Help me write out breakdown of the woods u used.
( my house is almost same thing as yours).

Even if the measurement is not the same, I’ll buy exactly like yours and if it’s not enough , I’ll buy more. I don’t want this people to overcheat me.. grin

Give me the break down of the wood
How many 2by 3
How many 2by4
How many 2by6
How many 3 by 4
how many bags of nails.

Also is it compulsory for the carpenter to go buy it? How can I avoid buying fake woods?

I’ll be going to get it on Monday hopefully ..

And finally, how can I spot the original stone coated gerard? and is it advisable to go buy directly from factory ??

Finally he charged me 200k for roofing..

Pls help ..
