In human society today especially in Africa or Nigeria, women are not treated with respect or they are downgraded. What do you think, in your opinion, is God's view of women?

Why the interest in God's view of women? undecided

Do you suppose it is somehow different from God's view of men? undecided

Does the western world which has "granted" the women folk all the rights and privileges fair better?

If only we could allow it where God kept them.

This issue has little to do with God because it's the first woman who brought this curse on all the women in the world!

To the woman He (God) said: “I will greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in pain you will give birth to children, and your longing will be for your HUSBAND, and he will DOMINATE you.” Genesis 3:16

So any woman who wants to remain married to a man will be DOMINATED unless for just one reason: if she carefully choose a true Christian {1Corinthians 7:39; 1Peter 3:7} but if she just pick any man due to her love for FAME, AFFLUENCE, WEALTH, POSITION, CHARM and others then she should be prepared to endure the curse Eve brought upon all females. Remember Eve doesn't want a God-fearing man that's why she encouraged her man to disobey God! Genesis 3:1-6

God bless you and may you have PEACE! smiley

Throughout the world men view women the same way due to the curse Eve brought upon all her daughters!
It's only more obvious in Africa because our women wants to keep their marriage unlike the Western women most of whom are freely sleeping around with different men after their divorce. smiley

The Bible reveals God’s view of women. The true God is empathetic towards all women whether they are rich, poor, old, young. For instance, the Law he set forth 1,500 years protected the rights of women including widows(Deuteronomy 10:18), allowed women inherit land as a tangible asset(Numbers 27:1-7), and declared justice for vulnerable women who were raped. Deuteronomy 22:25-27
Most especially, he despised men who mistreated their wives. Malachi 2:14-16

Even when God said the Israelites should have nothing to do with the nation of Moab(Deuteronomy 23:3), he still made allowances for a woman from that nation because her heart was complete towards him. Ruth 1:16
There are so many other experiences to relate on how God displayed his love and affection for women in times past.

The Bible reveals that God’s view on these kind of matters doesn’t change so we are sure that he feels all the same way towards women in our day. Malachi 3:6, James 1:17

Jesus was born through a woman. Women were present in his ministries. He saved a woman from getting stoned to death. The first witness to his resurrection was a woman. Gods view of women is the same as men. Both equal in his sight.

The Bible did not downgrade women, God did Curse them and Cut her off from Him!

Which is why you see the Bible only followed what God had done and followed the man for we all know that The Truth is Adam Did not Disobey God and would never have done so if not for the hell and deprivation of sex which the woman gave him to pressurize and force him to die with her, since she had disobeyed God and eaten the fruit.

Exactly as Satan, she did not want to die alone!

How can she allow Adam live while she was dying?

There should always be mutual love and respect - one person to another, per the second greatest commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) to love our neighbors as we do ourselves; never "downgrading" or oppressing anyone; whether they are male or female.

Clearly, there are Biblical gender roles, as in 1 Timothy 2:12-15 - yet, mutual love and respect should remain.

GOD has shown His wonderful mercy and compassion to, and has utilized both men and women to accomplish great things.

Examples of women in the Holy Bible on whom the Lord GOD had mercy and utilized:
Mary of Nazareth - gave birth to the world's only Savior (Acts 4:12)
Ruth - in the physical genealogy of the Savior
Mary Magdalene - healed by the Lord JESUS, and served as His witness
Esther - With the power of prayer and bravery, she saved her people.
Miriam - helped save Moses as a baby
Sarah - GOD said to Abraham "And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” - Genesis 17:16
Elizabeth - mother of John the Baptist
Priscilla - example of a Godly wife in the Bible, given to ministry and helping those in need
Mary of Bethany - always put the Lord Jesus first
Jehosheba
Jochebed
Abigail
Rahab
Hagar
Martha
Rachel
Hannah
Deborah
The woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11)
The Samaritan woman by the well (John 4:1-34), and so on...

That's where you see that the western world are Truly Satan's Children (Sons of Cain).

They were and are always trying to Hide and render God's Words, Laws and Curses a Nullity!

Which is why you see so many many maternity Hospitals and contraceptives and birth control are made especially for women almost none for men.

Thus, they thought that by "granting her rights, (which she already has so it was a nullity) they would hide and nullify the Curse of God over her!

But as you can see, they still struggle against it.

John 8:1-11
'1Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives,
2but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them.
3As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
4“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
5The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”
6They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.
7They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”
8Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
9When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.

10Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman,
“Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you
?

11“No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said,
“Neither do I. Go and sin no more.
"

Better player of a game, leaves and plays his or her trump card for the end of game.

Women, are not only God's gift to man, but women, in so many ways, actually are God's pièce de résistance. The woman was and still is, God's trump card. The bible even in Proverbs 18:22 says,'He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD'

Without the woman, there is no way for Adam to have an advantage that will make or have him likely to succeed in the God mandate. I am specifically referring to the divine injunction found in Genesis 1:26-28.

When it was time for God to incarnate and becoming a human being so to fulfil the protoevangelium in Genesis 3:15, it was the woman, not the man, that He first annouced that the intention. He sent His angel in the person of Archangel Gabriel to directly go tell the woman about His mission whereas He only revealed to the man, Joseph in a dream, so its unthinkable to say that the bible downgrades women or treat them as inferior persons.

I dont have any opinion(s), but what I do have are: Facts, truth and reality, which are, God's view of women is beautifully well encapsulated in John 8:1-11 read above. If you know, you know that God hold women very highly in His view. The first person to see Jesus after resurrection was a woman, not a man

Yes, the future indeed is female. It is for that reason that women over different periods or passages of time have been subjugated, maltreated, discriminated over etc all just to stop the positive exploits of women. The most recent are the Afghan women. Twenty years of liberation gone down the drain, in just a twinkle of the eye and the hand of the clock wound back to the dark ages of chauvinism, sexism, barbarism, oppression etc

Genesis 2:18 says "Jehovah God went on to say: ' It is not good for the man to continue by himself. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.' "(The man is not here described by God as being a better person than the woman. Rather, God indicated that woman would possess qualities that would complement those of man within God's arrangement. A complement is one of two mutually completing parts. Thus women as a group are outstanding in certain qualities and abilities; men, in others. Men and women are equal before God.)

God indeed created man and woman equal from the beginning...this we know of from the fact that when God cursed man for his sins, God condemned woman to a subordinate role in marriage as punishment for her sin. If God hadn't created them equal to begin with, her punishment would have been meaningless and God, unjust in His judgment. undecided

One problem with your arguement though is it assumes every woman's role is as helper to a man, which is wrong. undecided

In Genesis 1, we are told that God created them male and female. Then, in Genesis 2, we come to the case of a particular man, Adam, the first man, and God creates specifically for Adam, the only man who has ever been alone on this planet, a woman from his very makeup as his complement. undecided

The story told in Genesis 2 of the creation of man is specific to Adam and Eve and does not in any way apply to all men and women. undecided

Another thing we know is that God created some Eunuchs, some became Eunuchs and others chose to become Eunuchs, according to Jesus Christ . undecided
