Starting A Profitable Affiliate Marketing Business In Nigeria by SOMMYMAC(m): 10:09am On Sep 16, 2021
So lately I have been thinking of a way to explain what exactly affiliate marketing is all about using the Nigerian Concept.

Not until recently, I went to Main market Onitsha... The popular Emeka Offor plaza to buy a particular device.

So walk with me as I go on...

If you're familiar with that plaza, you will know that the moment you get to that place,
at least Three or five guys will accost you.

At first you will think they want to harass you or something until they start bombarding you with questions like

"Oga how far, come check am here"

"Na counter balance you want?"

“Bros, you wan buy phone?”

"Bro I no be agboro, I get shop, make I show you"

“Which phone you want? I get am”

Their main reason for these questions is to know what you want, so they would then take you to a shop where you can get it.

For my people it's called" Igba Oso afia" and this is the whole idea behind AFFILIATE MARKETING

These guys who try to stop you and know what you want the moment you step into that market are AFFILIATE MARKETERS.

How?

100% of them are not the owners of the product they are promoting or the shop they are taking you to

They are the bridge between you, the product and the seller

So, what these young men (affiliate marketers) do is to take the prospective buyer or potential customer to where he/she would get a product.

At the end of the day, the seller of the product will pay them what is called COMMISSION.

A “Thank You For Helping Us Get A Customer Package”.

This commission is usually calculated in percentages even before the guys (Affiliate marketers) set out to look for buyers. It can be 10%, 20% and so on as the case maybe.

So let's say that day I went to Emeka Offor, I bought a phone worth 200k and the agreement between the seller and the affiliate marketer (the guy that took me there) is 10%. That means for every person that he brings to buy that particular product, he goes home with N20,000 until their agreement changes.

So the job of this Affiliate marketer is to connect the buyer and the seller and by doing that, the affiliate marketer will earn a “cut” from the sale.

That's the whole concept behind AFFILIATE MARKETING.

Taking affiliate marketing online, doesn't change the concept too. We are just doing "Oso Afia" online and getting paid commissions.

The only difference is, you don't have to be at Emeka Offor to do so. You can manage your business from any part of the world.

You can run the entire business online, provided you have a smartphone or laptop. This is one of the rare opportunities you need to make money online in Nigeria.

There are a lot of digital products wanted by many. And that's why affiliate marketing is booming. Since Covid19 hit us, many now understand that a lot can be done online.
