QUESTION: Isn't prophet Muhammed himself partially responsible for the early wars in Arabia because he robbed caravans (when he was in Medina), which evolved into battles? If Muhammed did not rob these caravans, wouldn't that have saved lives? ANSWER: Yes. Why do I keep seeing questions similar to this? Questions like: Muhammad killed people, so how can be good? Muhammad engaged in wars, so how can he be a prophet? Muhammad raided caravans and caused wars. How can he be a good human? The problem with all these questions is that they assume pacifism is ethical. Unfortunately, this is a common trend spreading throughout the world in 20th and 21st century. Pacifism is not ethical, it is pure evil. There. I said it. Read more to know why. Pacifism does not prevent evil people from doing evil. It only prevents good people from fighting back. Pacifism appeals to the ethical people, and tells them not to fight. The evil people will still fight and cause wars. Pacifism only makes good dwindle in time. It was used by influential figures throughout history, such as Jesus and Gandhi, for a particular context. It wasn’t an all encompassing solution to everything. Jesus fought battles and was crucified for it[1] [2] [3] (and as you can see, scholarly sources that establish this historically are disappearing even from the Internet). The evils of our lifetime spread pacifism because it enables them to do more evil. Look at the reaction of different nations to modern colonialism. Did the ones who believed in pacifism fare better, or the other ones who fought and repelled the colonizers? So simply because Muhammad caused wars and killed people, that doesn’t make him a bad person. Non-violence and pacifism is not always good. If someone is raping an innocent girl near you, and you use non-violence on them, you are partner in their evil. Saving immediate lives or not causing immediate deaths is also not the most important thing for us humans. If that was the case, nobody would fight and die to defend their country, their honor, their dignity, their family, their morality, etc. That’s what differentiates Islam from many religions (although not at their core, but as they are practiced today), and that’s what makes Islam powerful and has made it so historically. And believe me, the evils of this world do everything in their power to change the attitude of Muslims in this regard. Islam is a religion of balance. To be a good person, you cannot go sit in a dark room and pray. You need to work during the day, and work hard, and make wealth, and pray at night. Muhammad saw a young, handsome man that was eloquent and walked well. He asked companions about him, and they said he’s an educated person from a wealth family and prays regularly throughout the day. Muhammad asked: what does he do? The companions replied: nothing. He’s rich, and doesn’t work. He prays instead. Muhammad replied: he fell from my eyes. A one-dimensional, secluded from reality, abstract thinking and not caring person is not a good person under Islamic guidelines. If someone invades your country, and you just sit it out and don’t care, you are not a good person in the eyes of Islam. Instead, you are evil, and share the burden of the evil of those invaders. So yes, Muhammad was responsible for many wars in Arabia and beyond. He did attack and raid caravans of his enemies. He did kill people. But he also did save lives. He did spare many. He did preach mercy. He did work hard. He dug wells with his own hands. He collected firewood with his own hands. And not only early on, all the way until his last days, he did his own share of the work. And that’s the model Muslims follow! Revelation means an act of making something known : an act of revealing something in usually a surprising way I am very sure you read from quran that Jesus Christ is coming back for the second time, the passage (Rev. 19) is telling you what Jesus Christ shall do when he comes back for another time. In the passage, JESUS CHRIST SHALL DEFEATS THE BEAST AND HIS ARMIES, I think you know whom the beast is?
