Who else do we blame?
Afterall he is the president.
He should be able to control the way rain falls.
I'm sure he would not allow this type of rain to fall in Daura.

You too much

That’s an eyesore. In Japan this would be fixed in less than 72 hours. sad
believe me that spot has shown erosion damage since last year rainy season and it was ignored by ferma,if it was in Japan they will not allow common erosion to cut their roads, what can cut road like that in Japan will be earthquake, sinkhole or tsunami, and it will be fixed in hours.

Sink hole, Nigerian edition....proudly sponsored by wuruwuru contractors grin grin

It was caused by prolonged rainfall and erosion not contractors. Parts of the SE are prone to this sort of erosion

The pic below is Canada, I guess they have fraudulent contractors too

The location is not Oba rather Obosi, the road from Upper Iweka to Owerri just before the second Niger bridge landing, between Mgbuka motor spare parts and Electrical Market all in Obosi. A petrol tanker was trapped there and the entire road is locked down.
Residents fear that the entire road will cave in later due to visible cracks on the remaining parts of the road.
Unfortunately, this is the major road linking travelers from ABIA, IMO, RIVERS, AKWA IBOM, and some parts of Calabar to the headbridge.
the traffic situation as i type this is very worrisome.
Oga thank you for this very informative update,I intended taking that road to PH this weekend......your post is the only insightful one on this thread and trust me Nairaland as lost it ......

It is possible the sign must have been there for long but due to lack of proper maintenance ,the rain came to do the damage .. All these federal highway agency ,what do they use their budget allocations to do? Why is it that everybody and agency has become fraudulent in this country ..Every structure is dilapidating .. Even police have no money to maintain their operational vehicles ...they give them vehicles but their bosses won't release the maintenance fund ..fire service men face same problem . They got vehicles but nothing to use to operate in case of emergency .. And we keep deceiving ourselves that we have a functioning system

So you want to tell me the so-called engineers and contractors who created this did not see such future calamity? I swear this country is not the way forward. This is a regular occurrence in China, a Google search enlightened me that the country was a second world nation. This can never happen in the United States or England, both nations invest heavily into research before development.

Make Allaah protect us.

First of all, all these roads are substandard and subsequently lack proper management.

I sometimes wonder how Nigeria would be if we experience earthquakes.

Earthquake, tsunami and other natural disaster that other countries go through, you wouldn't like to witness it here. With our bad government, I bet a lot of people would commit suicide than live to experience such.
