Those calling for the head or jailing of the contractor should equally know in case you are not aware. About 40 to 50% of that contract sum went back to the Authority or persons who awarded that contract hence, the substandard work.

Sani Abacha express way, Mbiana-Yenagoa road that were constructed by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha some 18years ago are still intact. Its a shame that this dispensational political office holders cannot give Nigerians any quality projects or services that will stand the test of time. Indeed, there was a Country.

Insidenaija:
A trailer carrying diesel has reportedly sank when a newly constructed road suddenly collapsed, in Oweri, Newspremises reports.

Newspremises gathered that incident occurred at the Onitsha-Owerri federal highway and caused heavy traffic, resulting in people getting down to trek to their destinations.

Commuters are heard saying that the sinkhole appeared from nowhere just as the trailer was passing.

As the trailer sank, its content spilled onto the road.

He don reach like this

So the son of man go dey cruise he ride and him go dey fear make road nor collapse
Its not a sinkhole ,its shoddy construction paired with horrible preliminary course study to see which parts needed a stronger sub base before final tarmacking.

Ayemileto:

Sink hole is not really the Contractor's fault sha.

And it's not only in Nigeria that it happens.

Basically, it happens because the structural composition of the soil below have changed, thereby, creating a void and causing the soil on the surface to collapse downwards (to fill that void).

Take for example, if too much water is added to a soil (maybe because of a leaking pipe) or too much water is removed, it can cause changes in the soil and lead to sinkhole formation.

Other examples of things that can cause it includes Drilling, Vibrations (from traffic for example), dissolution of underlying rocks among other things.

You can research more online.
OK thanks
