I am a born again christian and i have made up my mind to stay away from sin and live a life that is pure and acceptable unto God. But one thing i have become addicted to is betting on the pools every week. I set aside a percentage of my income to do this with the hope that i will hit it big one day. But due to my decision to live only according to His will, i was wondering if this habit is sinful before God. I'd also like to know some Bible passages against it.

Originally, sin can’t be generalized; one can’t say if pool betting is a sin because it could be sin to you, but to another is not.
The truth is; what is SIN? Sin is what God says is sin to you. Remember God deals with every man specifically. If you read the book of Genesis, God told Lot & his family not to look back at Sodom/Gomorra, but that was the same place Abraham was looking at that same time (read the bible Gen. 18 & 19) and nothing happen to Abraham but something deed happened to lot’s wife who looked back.

So maybe you should be asking a personal question like ‘would God want me to take my bath in the Pool? And that is between you and God.
Beside people do baptize in a pool.

And from what you said; trying to live a Holy life. No!
You don’t try or practice holiness once you are born again. When you are Born Again, then you have God’s nature of life in you which will bend you to live according to his will.
A man receives Righteousness (i.e. the nature of God) the day he got born again, that means you don’t try to be righteous, because as soon as you got born again, from that moment you become a righteous man.

What you need rather, is the infilling of the Holy Spirit, then Study and Do His (God) word, because in His word you will discover his perfect will for your life.

What the heck are you saying , what might be a sin to me in God's eye might not be a sin to another. Let me get this straight , if man A kills a person it might be a sin but if man B kills the same person it might not be a sin. Christians , you guys carry the cup for being the most deluded of religions

It's possible. Sarah lied to God , it wasn't a sin. But annanias lied and he died for it.

That Ssrah lied and got away with it does not mean God approved it. All sin is sin before God no matter who comitted it. God judges all equally.
@ Kris2glo. Maybe you don't understand me. I am in the habit of playing coupon every week. That's what i mean by pool betting. I just want to know if it's a sin before God.
