Beat The Odds With Freelancing by Offerservice: 3:36pm On Sep 29, 2021
Before the year 2019, companies were against their employees working from home until the COVID-19 pandemic started towards the end of the year 2019.

The pandemic made companies realize that employees can work from wherever they are as long as they have an internet connection. When the pandemic happened, many companies could not keep of with running costs including the cost of paying salaries and there was a need to cut down on expenses at all costs. As a result of that, many employees were laid off.

Staying in business can be quite tricky when revenue keeps decreasing and employees are forced to go home. This is where freelancing comes in handy.
Freelancing is the order of the day, especially since the pandemic and this is where individuals who have been laid off benefit from.

As an individual, you need to be able to blend into the freelancing space, it’s the real deal these days.

If you don’t have a virtual workstation, now is the best time to set up one because no one is sure of what is going to happen next and you need not be caught off guard.

Here are few tips to follow to beat the odds with freelancing.

1. Create a virtual freelancing profile on Offerservice.com
Before you dive into freelancing, you need to have a virtual profile. This profile will include your name, the services you render/the product you sell and everything you want your potential clients to know about you. You can even add testimonials from your previous clients to gain people’s trust.

2. Network with other freelancers
Networking is never overrated. Network with other freelancers, there is a lot of good in networking including getting job referrals and tips on how to gain more customers. Look for other freelancers in digital groups especially those that offer similar services to yours and build relationships with them.

3. Have a portfolio
One of the things a potential client is likely to ask for before they start work with you is your portfolio. Your portfolio must contain all your experiences, the projects and brands you have on in the past. It must be readily available and intact.

4. Set a standard for yourself
As a freelancer, you need to have an outline you work with. This should include but not be limited to your rate card, your availability to work and everything the clients need to know before you start working with them.

Set a standard for yourself, don’t just jump on everything, unprovoked.

5. Be professional
There is no need to let anyone know you work in your underwear in a corner of your room even if you do. Present yourself to your client in a professional manner always depending on the type of service you render. You may be called for an impromptu video meeting. Be ready!

6. Lastly, take care of your health
Sitting in a place to work for a very long time can take a toll on your health. As much as you can, take care of your health, eat healthily and take a stroll once in a while. Health is wealth.

Surviving in the world of freelancing might look a little difficult but the extensive training, careful preparations, the right tools and platform, you will beat the odds.
