HANDCUFFED SOULS, BUT INDEPENDENT MINDS.

On a day like this,
Wake-keeps have replaced parties because "deathdays" have overshadowed "birthdays"!

Carcasses are honourably placed inside coffins while birds use corpse for their buffet parties!

A time like this,
Poles used in animal husbandry are more appreciated than poles used for hoisting the flag!
Nepotism have loosened the binding glues!

Gunshots now sound like an applause!
Borrowing feels like a Laurel!
Our souls are handcuffed!
Deaths make a news complete

What a time!

A time like this,
Political leaders are the most endangered species!
The police are being policed!
Militants seemingly more sophisticated than the military!

The blood-stained flag has remained indelible!
The wounds have refused to heal!
Indeed, the ancestors have refused to rest in peace!

A time like this, the sword seem more powerful than the truth!
The path to destruction seem nigh!
Road to redemption seem far!

And to free our souls;
Moves must be made to appease the gods that have been angry since the days of Lord Lugard.
