Response to UGM different from IPOB but loyal to Nnamdi Kanu.

Yes the unknown gunmen are an entirely different group. But loyal to Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, to an extent. A careful consideration of their operations as against IPOB's would show as much. IPOB remains a mostly peaceful organisation. The armed wing ESN being it's "local security" group, domiciled in the rural areas. ESN by virtue of its design and background will not attack security formations unprovoked persistently.

The extremely brutal unknown gunmen don't care for this. They have and will continue to hit the security personnel. There is no end in sight to their activities until they attain their goal. And they are scoring massive points. Already they are seeing to the abolishment of the number one symbol of Nigeria's identity in the East, which is the national flag. Biafran flags are taking the former's place in the Eastern sphere which is a slap to the face of the central government. The unknown gunmen's spread and capacity is growing as they successfully amass more weapons from slain soldiers and policemen. Also their operations have continued to box the security personnel "into a corner" by gunning down "strays".

Given the prevailing conditions and the pace of the unknown gunmen's current progress one can predict:

1) Proliferation of similar armed groups of unknown gunmen.

2) The entirety of the South East will have Biafran flags flying freely by year's end.

3) The number of security checkpoints will continue to dwindle.

4) The Biafran currency will soon begin to filter into use.

5) The military bases will begin to come under siege.

6) Military and central government withdrawal from the South East.

There's no such thing as readiness for guerrilla fighters. You can ask the US against the Vietcong.

The attached image is a Vietcong fighter. This ragtag group of fighters, some of them farmers, struck the fear of God into the mighty Americans.

MASS RESIGNATION LOOMING IN THE FEDERAL POLICE FORCE

After the latest abduction of police OFFICERS by unknown gunmen as reported here

https://www.nairaland.com/6796257/unknown-gunmen-attack-umulokpa-divisional

mass resignation may be looming within the federal police force. This latest incidence comes as yet another hit in a now unending string of successful antipersonel operations on police officers and military. There seems to be no solution to forestall attacks and the officers now live in morbid fear. If the tempo is sustained by UGM the force will be hit by mass resignation.

Am suspecting that would be their next move considering how banks are already obeying the Nigerian flag removal order by IPOB.

UGM's BLOODY CRUSADE CONTINUES TO GIVE BIAFRA TRACTION.

Laws are enforced with power/force . A position is also defended with power/force. It is the tussle of these two powers that plays out currently in South Eastern Nigeria; to either defend her territory on one side or enforce a secessionist identity on the other. The latter, on a crusade since the turn of the year appears to be winning. The reasons are not farfetched but will not be discussed here.

With UGM's bloody crusade in top gear the Biafran identity which the people have been persecuted for is beginning to experience a more overt resurgence. In the past month the Nigeria flag has been made to be brought down across the South East, and conversely, reports of flying Biafra flags have been recorded in its place.

On another note, after the misadventure by the Nigeria army in arresting a top actor from the region donning the Biafra colours, several apparel designers have hinted at plans to scale up production of Biafra themed outfits. This has been greeted with immense joy by the majority of South Easterners.

In the news currently is a report of Biafra registered plate numbers already going into circulation. From the 6 predicted scenarios to play out in the South East as outlined in the opening post, numbers 1 and 2 are already being observed. With the spread of Biafra themed apparels, and items like Biafra number plates set to appear more in everyday life it is only a matter of time before the Biafra currency will go into circulation also as stated in scenario 4.

While all these may be seen as small gains by many observers it will no doubt go a long way in restating the Biafra conviction to the central government. A way of telling the government to back down as the fight will not be worth the trouble ; the idea lives on no matter the outcome and with the constant hits on security personnel the cost of keeping the South East as part of Nigeria is going higher by each Sun Rise.

IPOB may not bother. The people may begin to fly the flag they desire.

Once more as predicted, scenario 1 is playing out in the South East.

A lesser known or new armed group, The Biafra National Guard has just announced its coming to being and beginning of operations in the South East. Its scope, capacity, mode of operation and expertise is to be seen in the next few weeks.

It appears that the coming armed militias will have more training and sophistication.

So UGM are not DSS but a group loyal to Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB?
Trust is coming out from their own mouths and very soon they will agree that UGM is ESN.

Did you ask the Vietcoing's the consequences they suffer even till date?
And remember, there is no "going home" for Nigeria like it was for America.

If America forces were the one in Borno state, they would have long fled home.

When you become vietcong, it will even be more easier as you will be treated like vietcong.

They’ll have to engage the South West too which will then mean that the North is waging war against the South, so it’s not guarantee that North will win because it would be a fight against two nation, Should the North start to attack The East and Southwest, everyone can tell that is not in the interest of Nigeria. Because Nigeria as it is, is over

Key observation from the video press release.

They are likely a small group with a limited network and resources for operations. Not to be mistaken for being weak nonetheless as many of such groups, despite a small size are usually strongly motivated.

Op you said something that I have been trying get people to understand for a very long time.

UGM are not IPOB or Part of ESN

UGM are a totally different group of vigilantes. From their activities, you can tell that they are sympathetic to IPOB cause but they are not under IPOB.

Many who say the Unknown Gunmen are same as ESN are those against the balkanization of Nigeria. They do not care that the two groups obviously operate differently. For them UGM and ESN portend a mortal threat to Nigeria's authority of the Igbos. And this is very unpleasant.

However I am here to tell them, much to their chagrin, that not only are these different groups but more of such groups will be created. A case of interest is the shootout that marred elections in the Ihiala territory on Tuesday. There are indications that whatever group operating in Ihiala is different from ESN and the regular UGM.

I opened a thread about how UGM came to existence after Obigbo massacre.

Nnamdi Kanu response to that massacre was to create ESN which focused on farmlands and he instructed them to stay in the bushes only and prevent herdsmen from causing havoc.

But I strongly believe that UGM was created by people whose friends and family members have been kidnapped and killed by army and police. They don’t follow IPOB directives. They do their own thing.
