I won’t say it’s the worst but I am grateful for the experience. I wanted to venture into car sales because of the huge income potential and one off payment so I saw on the guy who changes money for me dp that he was selling cars I asked to help him market for commission.

Well I needed some money changed for a website I was building for a foundation and I said he should please help me change it stories started he even blocked me I had to loan the amount from someone else and do the job but I was grateful imagine if someone bought a car and na benz ? How much was it £30

I decided it’s better to work with a professional lot as opposed to individuals abroad

Depending on the make or model of choice Nigerian used won’t matter I drive Nigerian used I maintain well because na Tokunbo dem Dey target Ogun state motor come steal am make sango attack you

I also help pay and import European parts from junkyards in UK no payment no parts the difference is multiple shops bid to supply that part to you so pick and choose the affordable one

Your parts don’t have to be stolen or you don’t have to steal parts to survive your options never expire

February 2019..
I sold a car to a man who claims to work at a military establishment. He bought a car worth 1.4m from me and paid 1m. Asked me to follow him to his work place so as to get the balance but being busy, I designated my boy to follow him.
Few hours later, my boy called and was hysterical. The man asked him to come down to check what was bring out smoke from underneath at which there was none.
Immediately he alighted, the man zoomed off with his phone in the car.
He had to use a passerby's phone to call me.
I went to pick him up and we went to the place where he claimed to be working but there was no such person working there.
I was pained as there was nothing to be used to track him. He left with all the documents and receipts...
Ever had such experience, please share as there are lessons to be learnt from such.

Do u have affordable cars with no stress.
let me know

Mine is car hire ooo

Omo everyday na war cos some customers even though the car is tracked, they either want to run away with the car after paying to hire it for one day or claim that armed robbers attached them or remove the brain box and run away to go and sell it or drive the car out of town against the company policy or refuse to return the car back on time

And it’s very hard to know which customers would give you stress and which one would not give you stress before you give your car out on hire to them

Doing business in Nigeria is sometimes sad, cos once armed robbers or thieves know your business has money in it, how they are coming to come and take their part is what they will start thinking about

Are you in lagos? I want hire

True story.

A guy came from nowhere, carrying a big bag in his arm claimed it was full of cash and went to sleep over at the police station 'for security reasons'. The next morning, he gifted the DPO in charge #20k cash and requested the DPO accompany him to buy the car with a promise of more gratification.

The misery guy made his choice, kept 'the money bag' in the DPO's custody and requested for a test drive. With the impression he had created with the DPO, the car seller granted his request and vooommm! the misery guy zoomed off.

Both the DPO and the car seller waited endlessly for the misery guy to return, till tomorrow, na so the guy carry car comot o.

The seller and DPO then decided to open the 'cash bag', but to discover that it's filled with rubbish! Na so the car dealer hold the misery guy's guarantor(DPO) o. The DPO was made to cough out the money. That period was not funny in Saki! Any little case with police, you would pay through your nose! Las las na crowd funding, through public exploitation the DPO take pay for the car o.

Any Saki resident present on this forum can corroborate my story. It's true, I kid you not!

Hmm... people are out to defraud their fellow, i had an experience early this year, my cousin introduce me to a man from our hometown who have a Toyota Camry 04 tokunbo. We agreed to HP and I gave him 250k initial payment, and as at March this year have paid well over 1.5m( cos I run d car for Uber). One day this man called me and said he has a friend coming from abroad and will like to have a car to hire during his stay in Naija and does not want anyone to drive him. I sense foul play and send text to d man that if his friend can deposit 2 million in my account, I will release the car. That's d last I heard about the matter.

LOL

Smart move, I bet you're about to finish paying the amount you both agreed on.

That's how some people do, when they know its about time for you to finish paying, if you have any issue with the car or bus, the person will just come and take it, instead of borrowing you money to fix the issue, he will take it, fix it and give to another person again.

Tokunbo means foreign used cars that have come from ashore, some can have a faulty engines some are accidented but later repaired. So far it has a car has not been used in Nigeria before it is a tokunbo car

It cant be his fault for selling bad cars or accidented cars

If he knows but decides to hide the information, it is his fault. Many Nigerians know what is wrong with their cars but will never tell the intending buyers in an attempt to sell the cars above its value. The same thing goes on with toks sellers. Oyinbos don't do that

For someone to pay over 50% and asked that I follow him to collect the balance, it will be a waste of time to follow him, collect the balance, come back to the office to bring the documents and take it back to him

Well now you know it's not a waste of time in Nigeria

There are several sites online you can check for free just that they might not give you the full details, but there are also paid sites where you can get the full history. Just type the VIN in any of the sites and the history of the car will come up. Only foreign used cars by the way.

Unless, I embark on an online wilderness to search for information, you didn't provide keyword for.

I beg if you can not drop the Facebook link to that flyer, don't bother to quote or reply.
