The valid question remains:

Is this a good investment with the dwindling value of naira?

Even if the bond appreciates by 1000% in ten years, what if 1 dollar is 1000 naira by 2031?

Especially with the crop of re.tar.ded leaders Nigerians keep voting into power.

2031 too far for dollar to be 1000 naira nau! U no talk 2023 sef!!! Investing in naira is risky , very risky !! Because as it seems now, things just de worst on a daily basis

You are right Sha ..
Since mtn is a global company
No fear of liquidation
But then this country...guy grin

What about the country? When the bonds are calculated, they factor in inflation, that is why it is important to know the coupon rate of the bond

N1,000 by 2031?? You are way to optimistic about Nigeria...lol. You better pray Naira doesn't turn N1,000 before end of 2022 with the way Buhari is borrowing money left, right and center.

Well said, but it is always advisable to take calculated risk. So, to the investment gurus in the house, will this be a wise investment?

A 10year Bond even at 12% in Naira is very risky. In that 10 years, Naira could have devalued by up to 80%.

However, if its a short term investment of 2-3 years, one can risk it in Naira cos the interest rates in NGN (12-15%), is much better than USD (1-4%)
